3H Needs 200 More Pre-Orders to Reprint the Till All Are One CD Set

3H needs another 200 pre-orders to reprint the Till All Are One CD set. The set costs $35, and pre-ordering it adds the BotCon 97 concert CD set for $10. Both prices include shipping. Brian calls it an incredible deal. [Source: BotCon.com]

RFC Starts a Link Exchange

Brian thanks listeners for the emails, offers to help and positive feedback so far. RFC is starting a link exchange: link to RFC and it links back. He believes most of the fandom visits websites rather than the newsgroups.

News from Cybertron

Turin reports the shortest-lived business in Cybertronian history, a rental car agency in Iacon. Perceptor defends a new Autobot launch control tower, though Decepticons destroyed the previous 14. Chief engineer Grapple denies taking kickbacks, and Kickback and the other Insecticons were unavailable for comment.

ATT Buzz

John DeLuna says the newsgroup calmed down with no new Beast Machines to argue over. Instead, viewers got 90 minutes of NASCAR Racers: The Movie, which reminded ATT that something is always worse. Toymania posted news of upcoming Beast Machines toys, possibly a condor named Silverbolt and new Maximal dinosaurs. ATT is asking whether these are classic characters reborn or just recycled names from Hasbro.

Turin’s Top Eight: Why Optimus Minor Does Not Exist

In his first RFC broadcast, Turin presents his friends’ top eight reasons Optimus Minor does not exist. Answers range from Latin wordplay and a Prisoner reference to a time-travelling Optimus Prime. The number one response is “Who’s Optimus Minor?”

Turin’s Cheese Wars Dream

Turin describes a dream where the Beast Wars crew scanned cheeses instead of animals. Cheetor became Cheddar, Rattrap became Jacktrap and Optimus Primal became Cottagest Primal.

The Beast Wars Non-Show Character Site

Turin plugs his site for Beast Wars toys that never appeared in the cartoon. Fans write character profiles, and he hopes to stage Transformers radio plays with fan voices someday.

Transmetal, a Song by Blackarachnia

RFC plays “Transmetal,” presented as a song written by Blackarachnia about her conflicted feelings and her desire for a more powerful body. The lyrics are on the RFC website.

A Transformers Binaries Newsgroup

Turin makes the case for alt.binaries.multimedia.transformers, a group for sound files, episodes, images and other Transformers files. Critics argue interest is too low and existing groups are adequate. Turin believes a dedicated group would create interest and save fans from sifting through 24,000 messages. He urges listeners to vote in the ATT poll.

Mad Max’s Column: Hallowgivingmas

Mad Max’s holiday column celebrates Halloween and Christmas and shrugs at Thanksgiving. His Christmas wish list includes Thunderwing, Tarantulas, Bludgeon, Siren, Windsweeper and Scourge.

Toy Review: Beast Wars II Galvatron

Brian finally found Beast Wars II Galvatron at a fair price through Image Anime. He found it easy to transform, with instructions much nicer than American ones. He prefers the robot mode, where the dragon head and drill cannon help it stand. The weapons fit neatly into each mode, and the box is top notch with 3D renders and a diorama. His only complaint is the cannon sticking out the back. Brian calls it one of his favorite Beast Wars toys and gives it a 9.

Trivia

Last week’s clip came from The Ultimate Weapon, Brian’s favorite G1 episode. Megatron33, Silverbolt Mr. Vertigo and Zobovor (Dave Edwards) got it right. A new, harder clip is posted on the RFC site.
