Spooky turns up new Beast Machines Dinobots early, and Brian Kilby explains RFC’s new format of daily website updates.

News

Takara’s New Line Is Called Car Robots

ATT received plenty of pictures of Takara’s new 2000 line, titled Transformers Car Robots on the packaging. The earlier rumor of a Transformers 2000 name was not quite right. John DeLuna thinks Takara simply wanted to present it as a new line separate from Beast Wars, though he notes half the Decepticons are Beast Wars toys. [Source: alt.toys.transformers]

Rhino’s Transformers: The Movie DVD to Feature a Remixed Soundtrack

More details surfaced on Rhino’s DVD release of Transformers: The Movie later this fall. It looks set to have a remixed soundtrack. John hopes that only means a cleanup of the existing audio for DVD. [Source: alt.toys.transformers]

Transformers Beat Star Wars in the Toy Tussle

Transformers beat Star Wars in ToyFare’s Toy Tussle fan vote, and only He-Man stands between Transformers and victory. John urges listeners to vote, and jokes that He-Man began as Conan the Barbarian toys with new heads. [Source: alt.toys.transformers]

Spooky Gets New Dinobots Early

Spooky has turned up a couple of the new Dinobots, which Brian describes as basically Beast Wars Neo repaints. A link to the pictures is on the RFC site. [Source: not found]

ATT Buzz

John DeLuna says the group slowed down later in the week after an early burst of news.

RFC’s New Format

Brian explains that news, links, the ATT Buzz, Goldimus Prime’s reviews and Turin’s segments will now be posted to the RFC main page as they arrive, ideally daily. A listener feedback forum is coming next week, and trivia will be expanded. This week’s show is brief because his computer crashed and lost everything.

Trivia

This week’s clip is from a G1 episode and is also posted on the main page.

Transquake Deathmatch

Brian asks Quake 2 players whether anyone will host a server for an RFC Transquake deathmatch or capture the flag game.

News from Cybertron

Squirrel Convoy, newly appointed leader of the Eastern Hemisphere Cybertrons, gives his first State of the Dynasty address, demanding an acorn on every plate. Critics complain about his incessant biting. RFC then announces Nightscream’s death, only to take it back.

New on the RFC Website

The site has a Tankor review from Goldimus Prime and a Marvel Universe Transformed update, and wildrun.com has been updated by ViceGripX. Maximus Prime joins the staff to take over the fanfic review, with an interview next week. RFC may also host fan fiction for writers without their own pages.
