He calls the $40 Supreme Cheetor the wrong design for its price point and explains why Transformers: The Movie mishandled its deaths. He also praises the Fox Kids Transmetal Airazor. Turin counts down ten signs you’re too into Transformers, and Bad Poet’s Corner debuts on this short July 28, 2000 Radio Free Cybertron.

Fox Kids Transmetal Airazor, Waspinator and Mutant Soundwave Arrive

The Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator and the Mutant Soundwave are starting to show up in stores. John DeLuna picked up the Fox Kids Transmetal Airazor and likes her plain gold deco. He prefers her gold face and neon green eyes to the original’s gaudy, mask-like face. [Source: not found]

RFC BotCon Updates

Brian is not at BotCon, but John and, he hopes, Alex and Max will call in updates through the weekend. He will post them on the site as they arrive. He also apologizes for the late show and server problems, and says a new internet provider should fix uploads. Goldimus Prime’s review missed this week’s show.

News from Cybertron

Wheeljack calls a new breed of metal-eating Martian creatures cute, just before they consume his leg and take over the shuttle. An optometrist’s myopia treatment fails on Transformers. Galvatron accuses Optimus Prime of being in the pockets of big business, and Prime insists the piles of money have always been there.

ATT Buzz

John DeLuna saw Supreme Cheetor at Toys R Us and calls the $40 toy a house cat with a tiny head. He argues that no Beast Machines design is complex enough for that price level. On Transformers: The Movie, he likes the film overall but thinks its deaths were handled badly. The shuttle massacre built Megatron up as a monster, then Megatron became Galvatron five minutes later. That left the audience with no villain they knew and no stakes.

Optimus Prime for President

A mock campaign ad pitches Optimus Prime for the year 2000, paid for by the Committee to Elect Supercool Alien Robots.

Turin’s Top Ten

Turin lists ten ways to know you’re too into Transformers. They include voice lessons to sing the theme song and fistfights defending Arcee’s honor. He also mentions naming a private plane Starscream and asking what Skylynx would do.

Bad Poet’s Corner

The new segment debuts with two poems, “Transform” and “More Prime Than Prime.” The second ends with Rodimus Prime playing basketball.

Trivia

Rattrap 007 reveals last week’s answer: Spike watches Frankenstein as Autobot X, and only Prometheus X got it. This week’s question asks which two of the original Autobots were brothers.
