CybertronCity.com has posted an early Robots in Disguise manifest, and it is the only real news Brian Kilby finds this week. Filling in for John DeLuna on the ATT Buzz, Brian says alt.toys.transformers is in bad shape. This April 23, 2001 Radio Free Cybertron also brings back News from Cybertron and Bad Poet’s Corner. Brian names the Bad Dubbed Line of the Week segment and plays Return of Convoy music found by Zobovor.

Early Robots in Disguise Manifest Surfaces

CybertronCity.com has released an early Robots in Disguise manifest, and Brian sends listeners there to read it. He calls it all the news that happened last week, as far as he is concerned. ATT also turned up the names of the Robots in Disguise Combaticons, one of the few good threads Brian saw. [Source: CybertronCity.com]

Opening

Brian runs down the show and gives Bad Dubbed Japanese Line Thing of the Week its official name, Bad Dubbed Line of the Week. A new poll is up on the homepage, the first since November. The polls page will become a poll archive from now on.

News from Cybertron

Dateline April 1, 2001: the Omnibots finally reach Earth, but the Decepticons crush the remaining rebels on Cybertron. Kup, Blurr, Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, Springer and Sky Lynx escape. An Oregon Trail floppy bought on eBay starts displaying a tombstone for Optimus Prime. Cliffjumper jumps off a cliff to impress his mother, and Windbreaker and Blot get uncomfortably close.

RFC on Your Site

Brian thanks everyone taking part in the RFC on Your Site program, which adds the show to fan websites. Listeners coming through an affiliate can find the homepage at tfradio.net.

ATT Buzz

Brian fills in for John DeLuna. A thread asking whether the Ark caused the Ice Age spun into theories about the Ark killing the dinosaurs and a debate on global warming. Brian blames the group’s poor science skills. The on-topic versus off-topic fight returned in full force, and Brian argues no one has ever explained why off-topic posts belong there. His own question about whether Galvatron and Megatron are the same character drifted into an ugly argument he regrets starting. With decades of Transformers material to discuss, Brian says ATT is in bad shape.

Brian also picked up the Robots in Disguise Motorcycle Drone this week. He loves it and promises a review on the next show.

Trivia

Last week’s clip came from The Ultimate Doom, and Dexius R was the only listener to get it. Brian plays a new clip and suggests a three-guess limit for answers.

Ask the Computer

The Computer denies being an unemployed Victor Caroli. For a listener asking where to download Transformers episodes, it points to CybertronCity.com, TFHeadquarters.com for the dubbed Headmasters series, TFArchive.com, Transfans.com, TFArchive.net and PrimeSaber.com for Japanese episodes.

Transformers: The Movie Parody

A clip of the “Grant me mercy” scene from RFC’s Transformers: The Movie parody plays. Brian says part four is in the works, and the parody so far is linked near the top of every page.

Bad Poet’s Corner

Bad Poet’s Corner returns with “The Big O,” a poem admitting the show is not Transformers and that Brian has never seen it.

Bad Dubbed Line of the Week

The clip comes from the Singapore dub of Masterforce episode 3, the first Singapore dub Brian ever saw. He mocks the dub for calling Minerva “Nightbeat,” the wrong name and nearly the wrong gender. He warns fans not to trust any character names in the Masterforce dub.

Closing

Brian apologizes for the short show, since he and the Computer did it alone. He notes the archive holds every past show except one out of about 70. The episode closes with MIDI music from the Famicom game Return of Convoy, which Zobovor found while searching for NES music.
