Rhino Transformers DVDs Have a Pressing Error
ATT learned that both of Rhino’s Transformers DVDs contain the same episodes. Goldimus Prime hopes the next shipment fixes it. A box set of the DVDs is coming later this year, so he suggests waiting. [Source: alt.toys.transformers]
M Sipher Compares Hasbro and Takara Exclusives
M Sipher posted a comparison of exclusive Transformers from Hasbro and Takara. Japan never released Ironhide, though it offered Ratchet by mail order. Hasbro made more exclusives by a margin of almost 2 to 1. Goldimus responds, “I love you, Hasbro.” [Source: alt.toys.transformers]
ATT Buzz
Goldimus Prime covers the Buzz and calls it a very boring week on ATT. Last week’s trivia answer was “Desertion of the Dinobots,” and Dexius R got it right. There is no trivia, Bad Poets Corner or dubbed line this week.
Destroy, Erase, Improve
Tony Fitz returns to ask whether the Japanese have it better. He gives his own Japanese pieces slightly higher priority, but says many Japanese toys are average at best. Metrotitan is just a blue Metroplex, though he wants one. He wonders whether Landcross would be just another $30 brick as an American toy. Japan misses Primal Prime, the Beast Machines toys, and the Beast Wars and Beast Machines stories. Japan also took breaks after Victory and G2. He grants that Japan has better packaging and instructions. His verdict: things are different, not better, and Takara chases collectors’ money most.
Dinobots and Shakespeare
A comedy bit has the Dinobots puzzle over “To be or not to be.”
Beast Machines Primal Prime Review
Goldimus Prime reviews Primal Prime, the red, white and blue recolor of Optimal Optimus. His copy has quality control problems, including misaligned shoulders, tight joints and a badly assembled cockpit. A fixed knee joint makes ground assault mode harder and the robot an inch shorter. The missile launcher arm cannot hold its weight. He hates the new jet mode, once Optimal Optimus’s best. He likes the translucent red panels and the separate light button. He says it’s worth $20 or less and gives it a 6 out of 10.
New RFC Message Board
Goldimus opens RFC’s new message board at forums.goldimus.net. The team delayed it a week to get it right and hopes it draws more traffic than the old one.
