New Two-Pack Turns Up on eBay
The crew notes that a new Transformers two-pack is already on eBay at an exorbitant price. The seller is new, not Spooky. They urge fans to wait for it in stores, and a link to the auction is on Cold Hard Slag. BotCon is also coming up. [Source: not found]
About When Continents Collide
Heath answers listener mail about the Transformers story records. He explains they are not a fan dub but 1980s Kid Stuff records made by paid performers. The same company also made He-Man stories.
Nightbeat and the Plot Device of Doom
Tim reads his hard-boiled parody in which detective Nightbeat takes a case from Arcee. Her ex, Galvatron, has stolen the plot device. Nightbeat and Muzzle sneak into Decepticon headquarters, grab it and escape. In the end he decides some things are better left for sequels and retcons.
Toy Review: G1 Skywarp
Heath reviews a near-mint G1 Skywarp he picked up at an Oklahoma City toy store. He prefers Skywarp’s black and purple to the other Seekers’ colors. He praises the realistic jet mode and die-cast parts but knocks the limited articulation and the many snap-on parts. He keeps the easily lost nose wheel in the cockpit. Skywarp earns 8 out of 10.
When Continents Collide, Part 2
Part two of the vintage Transformers story record airs. Megatron drains a jungle oil lake and wrecks the world’s weather, until Optimus Prime leads an Autobot strike that drives him underground.
Surprise Toy Review
JD and Tim handcuff Heath to a chair while JD reviews his sealed BotCon 2000 exclusive Apelinq. JD rips open the box, scrapes the chrome, breaks an arm, loses a missile and throws it on the floor. He awards three God Magnus thumbs up and advises keeping it sealed. Then JD and Tim leave for donuts.
Closing
Heath thanks Brian for letting him host and sends his thoughts and prayers to Brian’s dad. The show closes with Tim’s song “Corolli.”
