Did G1 Ravage ever speak in the cartoon? Mop-Boy and RoTercy argue it out on this October 31, 2001 Halloween edition of Radio Free Cybertron. Rattrap007 returns with a new focus on Japanese Transformers and reviews Beast Wars Neo Cohdra. Crystal anchors a Halloween News from Cybertron, and one more listener gets credit for the trivia contest two weeks ago.

Halloween News from Cybertron

Stand-in anchor Crystal reports that Cybertronians have discovered Halloween, and everyone dressed up as Wheelie. At the party, Wheelie went as the Headless Horseman and Unicron came as his head. With the whole planet out trick-or-treating, nobody stayed home to hand out candy. Optimus Prime promises candy for all when he becomes president, while Galvatron plans house arrest so everyone must give him theirs.

Trivia

One more listener gets credit for the trivia contest from two weeks ago. The clip is the More Than Meets the Eye scene in which Ravage tells Megatron the rocket base lies 140 kilometers due west of the Autobot camp.

Did Ravage Speak in G1?

That clip sets up a debate between Mop-Boy and RoTercy. One side argues Ravage speaks to Megatron in his own voice, not Hound’s, and paraphrases what he overheard. The other side says Ravage only growls and was simply relaying information, perhaps through a speech synthesizer. They point to Megatron’s “Excellent, Ravage,” Ravage’s dialogue in the Marvel comic, and his talking role in Beast Wars, where he was rebuilt. The argument drifts to Beast Wars Ravage confronting Megatron over the Golden Disk before they admit they are off track.

Toy Review: Beast Wars Neo Cohdra

Rattrap007 is dropping trivia to review Japanese figures from Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo and Car Robots. First up is Cohdra, the Beast Wars Neo cobra. The snake mode is about a foot long with a nicely bulky hood, and the arm gun doubles as a venom-spitting squirt gun. Transformation is easy, and the six- to seven-inch robot has good articulation and a very poseable tail. His only complaint is the lack of a traditional hand. He gives Cohdra a 9.5 and paid $18 on eBay for the versus pack with Saberback.

Listeners can vote on his next review: Break, Dead End, Howlinger, Beast Wars II Galvatron, Bazooka or God Magnus.

Closing

The Halloween show ends with a spooky ghost song.
