Dreamwave Plans G1 Miniseries and Next-Generation Ongoing Comic
Dreamwave Productions is doing a Generation 1 miniseries and an ongoing series based on the next Transformers property. Brian calls that line Armada for simplicity. He believes Dreamwave mini-comics will come with some or all of the new toys, like the old Masters of the Universe comics. He also believes Dreamwave is doing the tech spec art. The comics will use the toys as design references, not just the old animation models. Brian likes that, because he wants characters on the page to match the toys he buys. [Source: not found]
Dreamwave Courts Fans and Brings In Simon Furman
Brian was not excited when Pat Lee first announced Dreamwave’s plans, but he is now. Dreamwave staff listen and respond to fans on its message board, and members vote on upcoming posters. Brian is not the biggest Simon Furman fan, but he calls hiring Furman smart and above and beyond. He notes the book would sell regardless, so the extra effort is for longtime fans. End of the Road Hardcover
Brian got the End of the Road hardcover with Bryan Hitch cover art. He finds Galvatron’s face on the cover ugly. He wishes he had bought the softcover to match his All Fall Down softcover.
Listener Request: Transformers Music Help
Perceptor15 is looking for musically inclined fans to sequence or transcribe a few Transformers tunes for a MIDI project.
TomcatX Segment Moves to the Homepage
TomcatX recorded a segment for the show. Brian decided it was too much for younger and easily offended listeners, so it is a separate download on tfradio.net.
Spirit of RFC Christmas Past
Brian looks back at the first RFC Christmas show two years ago. That show talked about Beast Machines and featured an interview with Picard42 from Transformers World’s Worst. Brian says the first season and first toys did not land well for him, but the second season was great.
Sizzlin’ and Grizzlin’
The show replays a classic Ironhide clip with Zobovor doing the voices. Brian says it inspired RFC’s Transformers: The Movie parody, which has reached three parts in two years.
