The Transformers Collectors Club revealed art of Transtech Cheetor, with a drawn robot mode and a car mode that looks like a photo. New Perceptor Pictures

KOToys.com has pictures of the new Perceptor, and Brian wants it badly for its tasteful chrome. One host would rather wait for an Ironhide repaint, and another wants the mold as Snow Cat. [Source: KOToys.com]

iGear Plans a Downsized Masterpiece Megatron

iGear plans a smaller version of Masterpiece Megatron. One host calls it the stupidest idea he has heard in 15 years in the fandom, given the original’s fragility. Exvee adds that iGear’s knockoff Masterpiece Coneheads will sell as a set for just over $300 plus heavy shipping. [Source: not found]

Masterpiece Convoy Final Edition

Takara’s Masterpiece Convoy Final Edition is billed as the last regular-colored Masterpiece Convoy, with a base and G1 Convoy’s voice. The crew jokes about Takara’s own repaints and pitches an Elvis Convoy. [Source: not found]

Comics with LadyWreck

LadyWreck notes San Diego Comic-Con 2011 runs July 20 through 24, with online registration opening November 22. Ongoing #13 is out today, and she shares Ender’s written verdict that IDW has merely removed some nails from the bat. Exvee recaps the issue: Hot Rod steals a shuttle, crashes through Decepticon security and mind-controls Razorclaw to reach Starscream. Hot Rod shoots the Matrix, then Megatron kills him at point-blank range. LadyWreck likes Nick Roche’s art but calls the story mundane. She urges fans to give IDW feedback. One host argues IDW needs a writer who isn’t a fan. LadyWreck says Last Stand of the Wreckers shows fans can do great work, and one host calls it great for a Transformers comic.

This Week in Transformers History

JD notes that part two of Ultimate Doom aired November 10, 1984. Action Blast part one premiered on Hasbro’s Monkey Bar TV on November 10, 2008, which the crew remembers as barely working.

Chris McFeely spotlights TFWiki’s new Robotix article, about the 1980s construction-kit line with its shorts and one comic. He won’t explain the Transformers connection, but points to the AllSpark Almanac II.

RFC Year-End Giveaway

RFC is giving away Generations Blur and Darkmount plus a stack of Titan Transformers trades. Prizes include All Fall Down, Last Stand of the Wreckers, Matrix Quest, Treason and UK exclusive G1 collections, plus rare black and white trades and Titan magazines. A Fanboy Versus clock and an E&I t-shirt round it out. Follow @TFRadio on Twitter, join the Facebook page, subscribe on YouTube or join the Ustream crowd to enter. Winners are announced on the December 29 show. Rob also plugs his blog post, “Have Your Own Damn Con.”

Character or Design?

From a TFW2005 thread, the crew asks whether the character or the design sells a toy. Rob answers “both equally.” One host says character sells the toy, though Drift is a wonderful figure of a character he can’t like. Another buys for the figure, and Darkmount won him over though he never cared about Straxus. Brian leans character, citing G2 Swindle, a G1 Ratchet reissue and his Coro Q Rodimus Prime. LadyWreck is newer to the fandom and hasn’t started chasing every version of a character. One host owns two Universe Silverbolt repaints, Darkwing and G2 Skyjack, just for the characters.

RFC Twitter Theater

Rob’s pick is a G1 Takara commercial that slips in a red Bumblebee and a yellow Cliffjumper.
