Michael Bay Returns to Direct Transformers 4

Michael Bay will direct Transformers 4, due June 29, 2014. One host is moderately excited, while the others dread more near-identical toys. A same-day press release called the film a reimagining, not a reboot. The crew hopes for a new cast and redesigned robots so the toys look different from the last three films, since Revenge of the Fallen wave 1 is still on Toys R Us shelves. They expect Transformers Prime to be over before the movie arrives. [Source: not found]

Operation Bumblebee Miniseries Coming to Transformers Prime

Upcoming Transformers Prime episode titles reveal an Operation Bumblebee miniseries beginning March 10. The crew jokes that Bumblebee is hardly overexposed. They note that most of the country doesn’t get The Hub. [Source: not found]

Revoltech Movie Bumblebee Photos

TFormers has photos of the upcoming Sci-Fi Revoltech Bumblebee from Dark of the Moon, due in June. The crew likes Revoltech, though not when it apes Pat Lee art. [Source: TFormers]

Final Dark of the Moon Wave Cancelled for the US

The last run of Dark of the Moon toys won’t be distributed in the US. That includes Human Alliance Soundwave, the Deluxe car Soundwave, Wheeljack and more Bumblebees. They will still reach Hasbro’s Asia and Canada markets, which can take smaller orders. The crew recalls other Canada-heavy releases, such as Omega Sentinel and Energon Ultra Magnus. Comic News: Autocracy #3 and More Than Meets the Eye #2

Aimee previews extras in the Last Stand of the Wreckers collection, including more than 60 pages of material such as “Bullets” and “Zero Point.” She points to new art from Alex Milne and Nick Roche and a video of Chris Metzen and Flint Dille raving about Soundwave. She enjoyed Autocracy #3 and calls More Than Meets the Eye #2 well paced, funny and full of character development.

Back live, the crew loves More Than Meets the Eye, praising its character work for Swerve, Rung, Whirl, Cyclonus and Ratchet and Alex Milne’s art. JD Church calls Autocracy an atrocity. He says Soundwave’s cassettes are killed off with no weight, and the art and story are flat. He keeps buying it only because each issue costs a dollar. Nicole Hale explains Infestation 2’s H.P. Lovecraft angle.

Toy Fair 2012 Swag

Bweebum came home from the Hasbro event with a DVD of Transformers Prime’s “Orion Pax Part 1” and the first episode of Rescue Bots.

Fall of Cybertron Bruticus Colors

Activision and Hasbro sent out images of the Fall of Cybertron Combaticons in two different color schemes. Bweebum believes Hasbro’s images and the Toy Fair display show the final colors. With five Combaticons in one wave, the crew expects short-packing and is considering buying full cases. They note TFG1Mike says he will buy only Swindle. [Source: TFormers]

Toy Fair 2012 Recap

Hasbro promised as many as 40 Generations toys in 2013. Hopes include a better Grimlock, Mirage, Trailbreaker and Armada Sideways, plus more non-G1 and Beast Wars figures. Brian is fixated on the G.I. Joe Shockwave set, and the crew notes Overrun is shipping. Cyberverse reveals include a Dreadwing that looks like Depth Charge. Bot Shots stand out as the coolest Transformers item, described as Micromasters meets Bakugan. A Death’s Head figure is coming to the Marvel line, likely in 2013. The crew is frustrated that the best news is a year away.
