Fall of Cybertron is out, and Rob, who reviewed it for TFormers, calls it a better game than War for Cybertron with an amazing campaign. Day-one Havoc Pack DLC adds Blast Off, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, Zeta Prime and Perceptor parts, with Dinobot and G1 packs to follow. The club opens sign-ups for its six-figure subscription, and TFC Toys adds a sixth member to its Superion homage. Aimee Morgan reviews More Than Meets the Eye #8, and Rescue Bots ends its season with a time-travel two-parter starring Tim Curry. Transformers Rewind takes on Enter the Nightbird.

Fall of Cybertron Launches with Havoc Pack DLC

Peter Van and JD Church report that Fall of Cybertron is in stores. The $10 Havoc Pack on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC unlocks Blast Off, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, Zeta Prime and Perceptor parts for multiplayer. Xbox Live avatar items include faction symbols and Grimlock and Laserbeak mascots. The Dinobot Destruction Pack, with Grimlock, Swoop, Slug and Snarl, arrives September 11. The Massive Fury Pack, with G1 Retro Optimus Prime and Sharpshot, follows September 25. [Source: TFormers]

Arms Micron Gaia Unicron and Optimus Prime Galleries

Figure King shows Arms Micron Gaia Unicron and Arms Master Optimus Prime, and a Toys R Us Japan exclusive Optimus comes with a bling shield. JD has it but has not assembled it. Gaia Unicron will likely be a Takara exclusive like Breakdown, which the crew expects, since it looks like a bag of knives. The page also shows colored Masterpiece Soundwave and Arms Micron Ironhide. JD nearly preordered the Masterpiece Soundwave but will wait for a US release. [Source: TFormers]

Figure Subscription Service Sign-Ups Open

Fun Publications opened sign-ups for its six-figure subscription, which closes September 10, with the first figure in January. The figures are Ultra Mammoth, Circuit on the movie Lockdown mold, Breakdown on the Classics Sideswipe mold, and Jackpot, Animated Jazz with a new head. Scourge is a Robots in Disguise G2 Optimus Prime redeco, and Slipstream uses the Prime Starscream mold. JD says it came to about $350 with shipping and insurance, roughly $50 a figure, and he has already sold his Ultra Mammoth. [Source: TFormers]

TFC Toys Adds a Sixth Member to Project Uranus

TFC Toys’ Superion homage will have six members instead of a larger torso figure, building on combining tech that already handles six. Phantom and Eagle come first, with preorders soon. [Source: TFormers]

Fall of Cybertron: Rob’s Take

Rob got a review copy for TFormers and wrote separate campaign and multiplayer reviews. He says the campaign feels like a Transformers game rather than a Transformers-flavored shooter, and he loved the end of chapter three. Multiplayer adds Capture the Flag and Headhunter, his favorite, where players collect fallen sparks. He notes Grimlock and his relationship to Shockwave feel like the Marvel comics, voiced by Gregg Berger as a darker character.

Aimee played multiplayer at High Moon during Comic-Con and was also impressed with Grimlock. Brian still has not finished War for Cybertron.

Comic News with Aimee Morgan

The Fall of Cybertron digital tie-in by John Barber and Dheeraj Verma is out on Comixology, biweekly, with five more installments. The Art of Fall of Cybertron moved to October 2. November solicits bring More Than Meets the Eye #11, a pre-war Orion Pax heist, and Robots in Disguise #11, as Prowl looks for someone to blame and Durge makes a convenient target. Rage of the Dinobots bridges the game to Prime, and ReGeneration One #85 is billed as explosive.

More Than Meets the Eye #8 finishes the two-parter as the new Decepticon cast meets the Decepticon Justice Division, and it is not pretty. A scene between Chromedome and Skids deepens the Skids mystery. Aimee gives the pair four out of five, liking the new characters but wishing they had more than two issues.

Transformers Rewind: G1, Enter the Nightbird

Dr. Fujiyama unveils Nightbird, a ninja robot built for science. The Decepticons steal and reprogram her to take the World Energy Chip, and she makes the Autobots look foolish. Brian calls it one of the best worst episodes of Season 2. The crew mocks the audience member who asks whether a ninja robot is a bad idea, and the Autobots’ useless short-range metal detectors. One host notes the fandom still debates whether Starscream’s jealousy is about Megatron, and that Nightbird returned in a later BotCon comic. The episode also shows rare views of Autobot headquarters beyond its main room. Next week’s Rewind is the Beast Wars episode A Better Mousetrap.

Rescue Bots: It’s a Bot Time and Bot to the Future

In the season finale, a time machine in the tunnels sends the bots and kids back to Dr. Morocco’s era, where Tim Curry’s villain studies the bots. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee follow to help. Leaving Dither behind creates Moropolis, where Chief Burns is a janitor and Cody was never born. Fixing the past brings everyone home, and Frankie and Doc Greene now know the bots’ secret. Aimee and Nicole call it a perfect ending.

Toy Lines That Shaped Us

A thread from Brian’s Facebook page spills over into the crew’s other childhood toy lines. Brian rediscovered Starriors, linked to Zoids, and mentions Visionaries and Inhumanoids. Rob remembers Robotech Robolinks, Takara’s Blockman. Aimee had My Little Pony while her brothers had Transformers. Brian, Rob and Exvee recall Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Exosquad and The Real Ghostbusters.
