The first Age of Extinction Optimus Prime toy appears at Hasbro’s New York Comic Con pre-event. It does not impress the crew on Radio Free Cybertron 332. Takara Tomy reissues the Hybrid Style Convoy in black, and KFC remolds its not-Perceptor into a not-Soundwave with Ratbat. Fans Project plans a Steel Core reissue, and an X-Transbots kit for Fall of Cybertron Bruticus gets a skeptical look. The crew rewinds the Headmasters pilot, Four Warriors Come from the Sky.

Age of Extinction Optimus Prime Toy Revealed at NYCC
Hasbro shows a Leader Class Optimus Prime from Age of Extinction at its New York Comic Con pre-event. The crew thinks it looks like a Shellformer, with the truck hanging off its back. One host likes the sword and is warming to the yellow, while another is happy to save money. At $45, the crew says the 2007 Leader Optimus Prime is a better toy. [Source: TFormers]
Hybrid Style Convoy Reissued in Black
Takara Tomy reissues the Hybrid Style Convoy in a black and gold version. One host briefly owned the original in 2006 and calls it outmoded now, a mini-Masterpiece that is smaller than MP-10. [Source: not found]
KFC Remolds Its Not-Perceptor into a Not-Soundwave
KFC gives its not-Perceptor a new head and Soundwave colors, packed with a Ratbat. The crew thinks it looks better as Soundwave and likes the tank mode, but not the microscope. They wish the Ratbat were sold separately. [Source: not found]

Comic Review: Robots in Disguise #21
The reviewers say Robots in Disguise #21, delayed twice, is mostly a holding pattern before Dark Cybertron. It explores Soundwave’s long hatred of Shockwave and his emotion-sensing abilities. They criticize Livio Ramondelli’s flashback art, noting Shockwave’s face changes shape between two scenes.

Q&A with Rob Springer
Xavier from Good Morning Cybertron asks which rivalry, besides Optimus Prime and Megatron, is best. Rob picks Rattrap and Dinobot from Beast Wars, and Ratchet and Megatron from the Marvel comic. He also gives a shout-out to fellow podcasts Good Morning Cybertron, Nebulon Pirate Radio and Transformers for Your Listening Pleasure.
Transformers Rewind: Four Warriors Come from the Sky
Brian, Don and Diecast rewind the Headmasters pilot, specifically the infamous English dub. Brian loves the dub and says it makes the series approachable. Don enjoys the Japanese take, which makes the Headmasters an ancient robot race instead of Nebulons. Diecast, watching for the first time, found the dub and captions distracting. They also laugh that Wheelie and Daniel defeat Trypticon.
NYCC and the 14th Anniversary
Diecast is heading to New York Comic Con and will tweet photos. Next week is RFC’s 14th anniversary show, with interviews and a few blasts from the past.
What We Got This Week
Brian picked up the Commemorative Edition Insecticons and a few other items at Retro Reboot in Charlotte. He also plans to get Masterpiece Prowl soon.
