Masterpiece MP-21 Bumblebee Prototype Revealed

Prototype images of Masterpiece Bumblebee surface with a transforming exosuit for Spike. One host’s Big Bad Toy Store preorder dropped from $79.99 to $74.99, which he reads as confirmation. It is estimated for November. The crew expects a smaller car than the other Masterpiece cars and likes that the exosuit actually transforms. They debate a Cliffjumper repaint, since Cliffjumper’s real-world car was different, and suggest Goldbug instead. The crew wonders whether the faceplate follows the toy or the cartoon. Q&A with Rob Springer

Marcus Good asks whether a Skylanders-style Transformers game could bridge older gamers and young cartoon fans. Rob thinks Activision, which makes both, could pull it off. He warns that licensing between Hasbro and Activision complicates things. He adds that Hasbro’s Beam Box for Rescue Bots is not the same idea.

Comic News with Aimee Morgan

Aimee recommends Simon Furman’s Bleeding Cool interview and Nick Roche’s new Death’s Head #2. May solicits bring More Than Meets the Eye #29, where the Lost Light crew reacts to Megatron’s arrival. Robots in Disguise #29 introduces Marissa Faireborn, and Windblade #2 has someone out to kill Windblade. ReGeneration One volume 4 collects the final issues, and new printings of More Than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise volume 1 arrive.
