With most of the crew headed to TFCon Chicago, Exvee hosts an unauthorized edition of Radio Free Cybertron. The big story: Generations Arcee was designed by Hironori Kobayashi. His fan-made Arcee appeared in a BotCon Japan art contest 16 years ago. The crew mocks the gold Masterpiece Megatron and the Year of the Goat Platinum Edition figures and weighs in on Fansproject’s Sigma-L. They also laugh at Master Shooter’s TFCon two-pack of Detective Ballgag and Hustler and share their third-party hopes for TFCon.

Gold Masterpiece Megatron for the 30th Anniversary
One host calls the gold Masterpiece Megatron a $200 polished turd. The crew wonders if it is a last hurrah before a new Masterpiece Megatron, like Final Shot Convoy before MP-10. Several hosts would rather have a Masterpiece Galvatron or more Decepticons that are not Seekers. Masterpiece Exhaust, a smoky Decepticon repaint, inspires a string of secondhand smoke jokes. Year of the Goat Platinum Edition Figures
The Chinese New Year Platinum Edition figures come in copper and clear plastic. The crew cannot see what says “goat” about these molds. One host suggests an actual goat-themed Transmetal 2 mold. The crew jokes about a six-pack of it in Seeker and Conehead colors. [Source: not found]
Kre-O Battle Changers In Hand
In-hand photos show Kre-O Battle Changers Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee and Grimlock. Each is built around a Kreon and transforms without being taken apart. The crew calls it a good idea that came about two years too late. They doubt Kre-O can last much longer as a Transformers line. [Source: not found]
Generations 2014 Volume 2 Exclusive Go Shooter
A new image shows the Go Shooter exclusive on the Nightbeat mold. The crew calls it the best use of the mold, though the yellow paint still looks unhealthy. Its price makes one host waver, since he will never own its teammates. [Source: not found]
Platinum Edition Dinobots Unleashed In Hand
The chrome five-pack of two Voyagers and three Deluxes gets a paint wash. The crew calls the set dull and compares it unfavorably to the San Diego Comic-Con Dinobots set with its pop-up Ark playset. [Source: not found]
Generations Arcee Designer Revealed
Scans from Figure King credit Generations Arcee to designer Hironori Kobayashi. Exvee recognized the design. Kobayashi entered a nearly identical Arcee custom in a BotCon Japan art contest around 1998. Fans spent years asking why it was never made. The crew then weighs the Hasbro and Takara Tomy decos, with most leaning toward the Takara Tomy version. [Source: TFormers]
DX9 Armor Kit for Evasion Mode Optimus Prime
The $45 kit gives Evasion Mode Optimus Prime a God Ginrai look and a new head. Rob likes it, though it would cost another $25 for the base figure. Takara Tomy’s Rusty Optimus Prime runs 8,000 yen. [Source: not found]
Master Shooter’s TFCon Two-Pack
Master Shooter Collectibles brings a TFCon exclusive two-pack for Generations Nightbeat and Armada Starscream. The partners are named Detective Ballgag and Hustler. The crew loves the jokes and praises the company’s interchangeable-part engineering. One host who met the company’s founder at ShardCon says he is a really nice guy. [Source: not found]
More from TFormers
TFormers has Windblade design sketches and news that Rescue Bots season three debuts November 1 on Discovery Family. Season two is now on Netflix. Figure King scans show Arcee, Windblade, Chromia, Armor Knight Optimus Prime and a promo Mini-Con called Carnivac. Big Bad Toy Store has images of the Transformers Q-Series figures, and Takara Tomy will air Robots in Disguise starting around March 2015. CinemaSins also posts a 32-minute Everything Wrong With Age of Extinction. [Source: TFormers]
Fansproject Sigma-L
Exvee, Matt and Barricade64 have the fourth Function X figure. One owner loves the heavy jointed wings, the coffin cockpit and the speakers. Another calls it his least favorite of the four. The robot arms sit plainly on top of the bat mode, and the wings weigh down the shoulders. Everyone praises its pair of 5mm shotguns. The crew worries that two years after the first reveal, only four of the five figures are out.
Third-Party Wishes for TFCon Chicago
The crew calls TFCon third-party BotCon and lists their hopes. One host wants more of Mastermind Creations’ Impactor. Paladin wants a new Omega Supreme, even a Legends-size one, and Fans Toys has hinted at one after its Dinobots. The crew notes Utopia and Quantron each cost about $400 and debates combiner scale.
They pitch Groove as the Legends piece of a Combiner Wars Defensor. Exvee mentions Play With This Too, the startup from former Hasbro staff, whose parts can be mixed to look like a G1 Pretender. He also hopes for an upgrade that makes Combiner Wars Optimus Prime its own super robot. Barricade64 wants more Fansproject Dinobots, especially Swoop. Another host hopes Mastermind Creations shows Abominus. Paladin hopes the makers show little, so he spends less.
This Week in History
Comic colorist Josh Burcham was born on October 23, 1985. He colored most of More Than Meets the Eye and drew for the fan club’s Timelines comics. In 1998 this week, the Beast Wars episode Optimal Situation premiered in the US, launching the final season. The crew agrees season two was Beast Wars at its best, and they debate which bodies define Megatron, Cheetor and Tarantulas.
Comics
TFormers reviews Robots in Disguise #34, the last issue under that title, and Primacy #3. The crew calls Robots in Disguise the better of the two but worries IDW is in a holding pattern before Combiner Wars. One host explains that Combiner Wars crosses over with the second Windblade miniseries. That series must wait for Primacy and Drift: Empire of Stone to finish.
