Exvee, Rob, Matt and Don break down the Transformers reveals from Hasbro’s New York Comic Con 2015 panel. Titans Return Sentinel Prime is a very orange triple changer whose tank mode looks a lot like a train, pointing to an Astrotrain. Machinima’s animated series promises a show that is not for kids, which has the crew worried about another G.I. Joe: Resolute. IDW lays out the Prime Wars Trilogy of crossovers and announces All Hail Optimus.

Titans Return Voyager Sentinel Prime Revealed

Sentinel Prime is the panel’s big new reveal, a triple changer in IDW’s orange, red and yellow colors. His main alt mode is a spaceship, and his tank mode looks so much like a train that the crew expects an Astrotrain repaint. Don loves the color scheme, and one host hopes the fists fold in on the final toy. Galvatron’s press kit photos reveal a third mode, a space plane that the crew finds hilariously obvious. Don badly wants this Galvatron after years with Universe Galvatron. He wonders how it will look next to Tyrant, and another host reminds him the Masterpiece-scale figure is much bigger. Titans Return: Just How Big Is a Titan Master?

Hasbro calls Titans Return a toy ecosystem, a buzzword the crew vows never to forget. One host worked out from photos that Titan Masters are about the size of Generations Brainstorm’s head, and helmets help them fit bodies of every size. Silhouettes on the slides hide unrevealed Deluxes, and the Leader slide shows Powermaster Prime’s head. The crew wishes for Highbrow, Weirdwolf and the Horrorcons, and notes Siren’s head is coming as a Titan Master named Loudmouth. Combiner Wars appears to be done, which worries the crew about the Technobots. [Source: TFormers]

Machinima’s Animated Transformers Series

Machinima’s producers repeated that the series is not for kids and that they are making it as G1 fans. The crew fears another G.I. Joe: Resolute. One host finds hope in the Megas XLR co-producer’s involvement, and the series stands apart from the IDW comics. Episodes run seven or eight minutes each, and no artwork has been shown yet. Don prefers to go in with zero expectations, while another host says the presentation already set expectations for him. [Source: TFormers]

IDW Announces the Prime Wars Trilogy and All Hail Optimus

Combiner Wars is now Part One of a Prime Wars Trilogy, with Titans Return as Part Two and a third chapter for 2017-2018. James Roberts, John Barber and Mairghread Scott will write the crossover together, and the crew fears another Dark Cybertron. Don floats an Amalgam-style separate crossover book, but another host notes Barber’s continuity discipline would still bend the other books. After issue 50, the former Robots in Disguise book launches All Hail Optimus, in which Optimus Prime decides Earth must be conquered for its own good. The crew loves the premise and the cover of Optimus crushing the globe. [Source: TFormers]

The Best Show of the Year

The crew calls New York Comic Con 2015 the best Transformers show of the year, after a lackluster BotCon and a quiet SDCC. They like spreading big reveals between Toy Fair and the fall shows. They also ask the Nuremberg Toy Fair to close the drapes next year, after Devastator leaked through a window.
