Pre-Toy Fair leak season brings a blurry Titans Return Blurr and a Toys “R” Us listing for a $99.99 Combiner Wars Computron. John, ExVee and Matt also look at unpainted Titans Return Blaster test shots. ExVee isn’t sold on Blurr and wants Computron’s Scattershot color-corrected. Matt still hopes for a Unite Warriors Computron. Sky Lynx’s Sky Reign team rounds it out.
Titans Return Blurr
A low-res image shows Blurr as a Headmaster, very G1 in vehicle mode and from the waist up. ExVee, who posted it, doesn’t like it and calls it a G1 toy with extra joints from a weak 1986 mold. Matt is more positive and glad to see a new character, but wishes he were a Targetmaster. ExVee expects Titan Master packs could add classic partners later. [Source: not found]
Combiner Wars Computron at Toys “R” Us
A photo of a Toys “R” Us inventory screen lists Computron for May 1, 2016 at $99.99, almost certainly a box set. [Source: not found] ExVee asks what this means for fans who already bought Scattershot. He hopes Hasbro color-corrects the figure, with a browner secondary red and a better head color than gunmetal. Matt had predicted a Unite Warriors Computron on RFC. He expects little retooling, with team members built from existing Aerialbot and Stunticon molds and Nosecone from Brawl. John suspects it was meant as a Toy Fair reveal.
Titans Return Blaster Test Shots
Unpainted test shots show Titans Return Blaster’s sculpt in detail. ExVee finds him chunky and worries about how few plastic colors he uses. He spots that the Titan Master’s face is a separate plastic, which could mean a matching face on every release. Matt is fine with a chunky Blaster but worries about Hasbro’s light paint. Next to Armada Megatron, ExVee expected him to look bigger.
Sky Lynx and the Sky Reign Wave
ExVee notes a Sky Lynx preorder slated for March and fears it may get lost in the Titans Return transition. Matt admits to buying some Combiner Wars figures just for limbs. ExVee likes Sky Reign assembled but doesn’t need the limb characters, calling out the Trailbreaker and Wheeljack paint. He suspects G1 Autobot cars partly serve China, where fans missed earlier versions.
Toy Fair Season
John loves that blurry leaks mean Toy Fair is near. All three want real surprises, though ExVee still regrets last year’s spoiled Devastator.
