John DeLuna, Don, Diecast and Brian Kilby work through the first half of the TFCon Chicago 2016 third-party slideshow. Fans Toys closes it with Terminus Giganticus, a Masterpiece-scale Omega Supreme roughly two feet tall. Fans Hobby’s Monsterbots win over Brian and Don. Upgrade kits, Masterpiece Dinobots and a growing Legends-scale scene fill out the rest.

Statues and Upgrade Kits

The panel opens with 3A’s Optimus Prime and Megatron statues; Don would rather display MP-01. DNA Design shows Fortress Maximus hands, which Diecast would buy. Don says no third-party add-on can save Fort Max for him. DNA Design’s first full figure is Susanoo DS-01, a Masterpiece Bludgeon. Beelzeboss kits include a Trailbreaker shield and the Nightbeat upgrade John owns but calls overpriced. Kits turn Combiner Wars Optimus Prime into a Nova Prime, which tempts Don. John sold his Combiner Wars Leader Megatron, and Brian doesn’t like his either.

Masterpiece Dinobots and Monsterbots

Gigapower shows Slag, Snarl and a Swoop, bigger than MP-10. Diecast says Gigapower is slow, and Don prefers his Fans Toys Dinobots. Brian owns Fans Project Dinobots and wants no Masterpiece ones. Fans Hobby’s Master Builder line shows Monsterbots Repugnus and Doublecross. Brian loves them as premium Generations-style toys, and Don’s favorite is Repugnus. Fans Hobby also shows a Roadbuster CAD.

Minibots, Trailbreaker and More

Bad Cube’s Old Timer Series adds Grump and Slick, a Gears and Swerve, plus a Brawn, Trailbreaker and Hoist. One host loves Trailbreaker’s vehicle mode, but Don says the legs look like an origami nightmare. Perfect Effect shows a Fortress Maximus cannon and sword. Its Masterpiece Optimal Optimus splits the crew. Brian sees no point in it, while another host loved Optimal Optimus as a Titanium figure and wants it.

DX9, Planet X and the Legends Scene

DX9 shows Mitron, its not-Megatron, now up against Takara’s Masterpiece Megatron, plus Hanzo, a Sixshot. DX9’s War in Pocket line adds Legends-scale Dinobots, Seekers and Coneheads; one host wants them all, and Don wants the Dinobots. Planet X shows a Cybertronian Starscream and Perceptor, plus a Trypticon as big as its Omega Supreme. Brian has Iron Factory’s Lord Scorpion on preorder.

Fans Toys and Terminus Giganticus

Fans Toys shows a Grimlock about 10 to 15 percent bigger than Masterpiece Grimlock, and Diecast will likely buy it. Sovereign, its Galvatron, is due in December. Don has Phoenix, its Jetfire, on preorder and wants Seaspray. Kup, called Coot, is a Targetmaster, and Don hopes third party finally nails a good one. Terminus Giganticus FT-20 is a cartoon-accurate Omega Supreme about two feet tall, holding a Masterpiece Shockwave in its claw. Don wants it, while another host worries it may not stand under its own weight. [Source: TFW2005]
