TakaraTomy and Atmos reveal MP-10ASL, an orange Masterpiece Convoy tied to a LeBron James sneaker. Hasbro Pulse raises Ectotron to $49.99, and the first Transformers and Ghostbusters comic teaser shows a robotic Gozer. The blue Legends LG-EX Big Convoy and new Mazinger Z vs. Transformers covers also turn up. Generations Selects Combat Megatron lands in hand, and nearly the whole crew calls it hideous and loves it anyway.

MP-10ASL Masterpiece Convoy Atmos Safari LeBron James Version

The orange MP-10ASL with stripes and stamped emblems is ¥20,000 and sold only through Atmos stores and their app in Japan. It ties in with a LeBron James sneaker. Atmos showed three other MP-10 recolors at Wonder Festival: Elephant, Duck Camo and Viotech, with fans voting by sticker. The crew likes the orange, and Elephant looks like the winner. One host says he would consider a Michael Jordan version. [Source: TFormers]

Hasbro Pulse Raises Ectotron to $49.99

Ectotron came back on Hasbro Pulse at $49.99, matching the GameStop price, after launching at $39.99. The crew compares it to Siege Deluxes that debuted at an introductory price. One host notes Ectotron has more detail than a small die-cast Ecto-1, and that it appeared in an episode of The Goldbergs. [Source: Hasbro Pulse]

Transformers/Ghostbusters: Ghosts of Cybertron Teaser

Legends LG-EX Blue Big Convoy Box Images

The blue LG-EX Big Convoy is styled after an old lucky draw figure. Brian’s ships this week and will be his fifth version of the toy. He finds the deco underwhelming but wants it anyway. Matt shows off his 2006 Magna Convoy, which now sells for about $100. [Source: TFormers]

Mazinger Z vs. Transformers Covers from Shinobu Kaze and Yuki Ohshima

One new cover comes from a character designer on the 1974 Great Mazinger anime. Another is by Yuki Ohshima, known for Kiss Players. The crew likes both, though Devastator barely reaches Mazinger’s waist. A third cover from the creator of Mazinger Z is still coming. [Source: TFormers]

What We Got This Week

Brian

Brian did not care for Generations Selects Combat Megatron until it arrived, and now he loves it and its paint.

Diecast

Diecast got three BotBots. The Venus flytrap that turns into a frog is his least favorite, because its back legs will not come out as the instructions show.

Chris

Chris got the Siege Micromaster set of Laserbeak and Ravage. Laserbeak is the star, with an intuitive change to a complete bird. Ravage is fiddly and has very thin legs, so he advises posing them carefully.

Don

Don got Combat Megatron but has not opened it. A shipping address glitch at Hasbro Pulse meant FedEx could not find his apartment, so Pulse had to resend it.

Jason

Jason had nothing in Transformers this week.

Matt

Matt got Combat Megatron, calling it a hideous eyesore that he kind of loves. He wants Hasbro to use Generations Selects for Euro G1 and G2 characters such as Thunderclash.

John

John got Combat Megatron and Siege Shockwave. He finds Shockwave a little small for a Leader-priced figure, though his daughter loves the light piping. He also ordered the Unite Warriors Superion reissue from Amazon Japan for about $100.

Rob

Rob got Combat Megatron. He calls it the deco too ugly for the 1990s, but likes it, and its ankles are tighter than his regular Siege Megatron’s.
