Stuck on a cruise ship with you

Siege Wave 2 Deluxes arrive, and Sixgun and Ironhide outshine Prowl. The 7-Eleven exclusive is just Legendary Nemesis Prime, and Atmos MP-10 variants include a gloriously ugly Duck Hunter Camo. Plus a peek at Siege Omega Supreme’s height.

Listen · RFC 613

Siege Wave 2 Deluxes arrive, and Chris and Matt both rate Sixgun and Ironhide well above Prowl. Brian is let down that the 7-Eleven exclusive is just Legendary Nemesis Prime, not a new 7-Eleven Convoy. Atmos unveils more MP-10 Convoy variants, from the pretty Elephant Convoy to a Duck Hunter Camo the crew loves to hate. Hasbro’s Omega Supreme design feature hints at the Titan’s true height, and Exvee reviews the new IDW Transformers #1.

Legendary Nemesis Prime 7-Eleven Japan Exclusive Revealed

The 7-Eleven exclusive is Nemesis Convoy on the upscaled Legendary mold, and the center windows still do not line up. Brian is hugely disappointed, since he wanted an affordable 7-Eleven Convoy. One host wishes TakaraTomy had used the Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime mold. Another is sure a black repaint is coming anyway. [Source: TFormers]

More Atmos MP-10 Animal and Tiger Exclusives Join the Nike Convoy at AtmosCon 2019

New Atmos versions of MP-10 Convoy come in animal prints and camouflage. Brian wishes Sam Beckett would leap in and stop him from ever starting the show. Duck Hunter Camo pairs two greens with a brownish-orange gun, and one host calls it the ugliest Transformer he has ever seen, and loves it. One host follows sellers in China and may buy one or two if they match the LeBron James Convoy’s roughly $130 price. Another host would pick Elephant Convoy, a white-heavy take on the Nemesis scheme. 35th Anniversary World of Transformers Exhibit Details and Images

A 35th anniversary exhibit runs in Japan from March 15 to April 1. Paid visitors get a logo sticker, and the first 100 children each day get a Tiny Turbo Changer. Visitors can win an Art of Transformers poster and buy the book plus Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee and Ironhide. One host calls it a lame exhibit, but the crew would love to see the original Japanese packaging paintings and wooden transformation mock-ups. [Source: TFormers]

Transformers Cyberverse Coming to Japan July 2019 With New Toys

Cyberverse launches in Japan on July 19, its first appearance there. The new toys look like the armor-up prototypes already seen, such as Optimus Prime’s jet armor and Bumblebee’s battleship armor. One host pictures the Authentics line sold in Japan as candy toys. [Source: TFormers]

Transformers Siege Titan Class Omega Supreme: Hasbro Pulse Behind the Design

Hasbro notes that Omega Supreme’s height depends on where you measure, which suggests the two-foot figure is measured to the wings. Using a 10.5-inch head height for G1 Omega, Chris estimates the Titan reaches 19 to 20 inches at the head and about 22 overall. That would make it a little bigger than Devastator. Part two of the feature is due next week. [Source: TFormers]

What’s on TFormers

Review: The Transformers (2019) Issue #1

Exvee reviewed IDW’s new first issue, out in comic shops this week. Chris finds it exposition-heavy, telling rather than showing, with a formulaic last-page twist. He likes some of the world-building and is not writing it off, but the issue alone would not bring him back in two weeks. [Source: TFormers]

Transformers Siege Jetfire and Omega Supreme Box Art Scans

Clean scans show the two box paintings are different angles on the same battle. Jetfire flies over Omega Supreme’s shoulder on one, while Omega fights on the ground on the other. [Source: TFormers]

Gallery: Generations Selects Combat Megatron

Jack’s gallery covers the G2 Combat Hero Megatron, which the crew recommends while it is still easy to find. [Source: TFormers]

What We Got This Week

Brian

Brian got the blue Encore Big Convoy, his fourth Big Convoy, or eight counting the shells. Later in the show he found God Neptune on eBay for $100, arriving next week.

Chris

Chris got Siege Wave 2 Deluxes Sixgun, Prowl and Ironhide. His Sixgun was missing a hinge pin, which he replaced with wire. Sixgun is fun to equip, though it will not lock onto Hound. It pairs brilliantly with Ironhide’s 5 mm ports, especially the leg cannons as backpack guns. Ironhide is poseable and a head taller than Prowl, but its friction-hinged leg panels pop off easily. He hopes for an Energon Snow Cat redeco. Prowl is the weakest of the three, with white plastic that looks unfinished, gummy joints and feet that are hard to balance.

Diecast

Diecast got the Omega Supreme card for the Transformers Trading Card Game from Loot Crate, the only way to get it. It is the size of the Metroplex card, and his unboxing is up on RFC Reviews.

Don

Don landed an official first-release Masterpiece Red Alert thanks to a friend on Twitter, replacing a knockoff with a broken window. At Ed McKay’s in Greensboro he found Energon Tidal Wave for $10 with Ramjet but no missiles. He also bought Studio Series Leader Jetfire at Target and Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime, passing on four Rampages.

Matt

Matt found Siege Ironhide and two Sixguns. Ironhide’s leg panels fly off at a moment’s notice, but he still calls it a good, solid Deluxe. Sixgun is fantastic, though 5 mm port fit varies from toy to toy. He passed on Chromia for deco problems and on Soundwave because of painted battle damage.

Rob

Rob got Siege Soundwave at retail on Amazon. He loves the robot mode but not either alternate mode. Tabs on the backpack and shoulder fit poorly, and the shoulder launcher cannot point straight forward. It is still his only Generations Soundwave.

John

John also got the blue Encore Big Convoy, a 1999 lucky draw item. He shares its TFWiki lore as the leader of a Primus Vanguard who passed the Matrix sword to Magna Convoy.
