More Walmart Vintage Transformers Reissues Up for Vote: Blaster or Skywarp?

Hasbro’s poll on the Transformers Facebook page asked fans to pick Blaster or Skywarp, and Blaster won. The crew worries about price, since the reissue Optimus Prime costs $50 and Blaster is far bigger. One host guesses $80 or more if cassettes are included. One host already owns five Blasters and would rather see G2 redecos, like an orange G2 Devastator. The crew notes Blaster has not had a regular US retail reissue in years. [Source: TFormers]

Preorder Transformers Siege Greenlight on Amazon Now

Chris spotted Siege Greenlight, packed with the Battle Master Dazzlestrike, for preorder on Amazon. The listing went in and out of stock for a few days and is now gone. Chris estimates about 300 sold in that window, and shipping is set for July 1. Nothing marks it as an exclusive, so Chris expects it on Hasbro Pulse too. [Source: TFormers]

New Firecons Join the Transformers Trading Card Game Siege Expansion

The Firecons are coming to the Transformers Trading Card Game’s Siege expansion. The crew wonders whether the card game hints at future toys. One host says it is always nice when someone remembers the Firecons exist. [Source: TFormers]

Color Images: FansToys FT-30C Goose, FT-42 Hunk and FT-41 Sheridan

FansToys shows color images of Goose, its Skydive, plus Hunk as Brawn and Sheridan as Warpath. The crew finds Brawn slightly off model, with the front matching the cartoon and the back matching the toy. The missing Autobot symbol and the arm color also bother them. Warpath looks metallic red but too slender, and one host says he needs to be chunkier. Diecast says Silverbolt and then Blur come first, so these may not all arrive this year. [Source: TFormers]

Hasbro’s 35th Anniversary More Than Meets the Eye Box

Hasbro sent RFC its Transformers 35th anniversary promo box, and Brian thought at first it was Omega Supreme. Inside are BotBots, a Bumblebee movie Energon Igniters figure, the $30 Cyberverse Megatron and Cyberverse Grimlock. It also holds Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime, Siege Soundwave and Siege Laserbeak and Ravage. The sleeve shows Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Windblade, Wheeljack and Grimlock on the front. Soundwave, Shockwave, Megatron and Barricade are on the back. A hidden code on the box unlocks a free digital copy of IDW’s Transformers #1. Brian already owns most of it, so RFC is giving the toys away on Twitter at @tfradio, starting with BotBots.

What We Got This Week

Jason briefly had Siege Soundwave but returned it unopened because he cannot stand the battle damage. He finally built Flame Toys’ Furai Model IDW Optimus Prime and calls it sturdier than the Attack Mode version. Megatron is next on preorder at $50. His preorder for the next two pieces of Iron Factory’s DJD also arrived.

Don had already chosen Magic Square’s Optimus Prime for the more complete package. He then found the second version of the Transform Element Optimus Prime for $120 and used eBay Bucks to get it too. It includes an alternate head for a more MP-44 look.

Rob got Siege Aimless at retail and likes the Siege Battle Masters.

Chris had nothing on topic this week.

Matt realized his Sharkticons outnumber his Junkions. He bought two Combiner Wars Legends Wreck-Gars and a Power of the Primes Wreck-Gar, then three more after a restock. He also dabbled in third-party Masterpiece with X-Transbots’ G2 Crack-Up and Flip-Out, their Breakdown and Wildrider. He found them at Toy Dojo, where Crack-Up was about $70. They scale with the Masterpiece Autobot cars and transform intuitively, despite poor instructions.

Diecast got Ocular Max’s Springer, his fifth third-party Masterpiece Springer, and had to swap its wheels. He also got the upscaled DX9 Legends Optimus Prime, which adds a removable Matrix. Head Warrior, an upscaled Headmaster with power-loader arms, has painted tech specs. He also got two more dogs for Unique Toys’ Lockdown, which came with another Lockdown. Rounding it out are Generation Toys’ Groove, a knockoff Masterpiece Dinobot and a knockoff LeBron James Optimus Prime.

Brian got New Age’s Legends-scale Bumblebee. He calls the robot mode phenomenal and the engineering comparable to a 2010-era Deluxe. His one complaint is that the wheels are panels and do not roll.
