Siege Wave 5 Case Assortment Surfaces Ahead of SDCC

An Australian wholesaler listed case assortments for Siege Deluxe Wave 5, including Spinister and Crosshairs. Brian speculates that Hasbro revealed the end of Siege early on purpose. If so, SDCC would focus on the second War for Cybertron chapter, with only two or three true surprises. [Source: not found]

Hasbro Invites Pulse Premium Members to an SDCC Party

Hasbro emailed Pulse Premium members a sign-up for a party at SDCC, and the slots ran out within 15 minutes. The party runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Pacific at a venue within walking distance of the convention, with food and drinks. One host guesses Hasbro will rerun its fan media breakfast display for the members. The crew recalls awkward Transformers parties of BotCon past, including the 2003 AllSpark party. The crew also notes Premium members have yet to see the special sales Hasbro promised. RFC Contest Winner and Ectotron Giveaway

Blade Raider, @BladeGnome on Twitter, wins the Cyberverse Megatron and Grimlock giveaway. An Ectotron giveaway runs through July 17, 2019. Follow @TFRadio on Twitter and retweet the contest tweet to enter.

First Look at Autobot Lancer, the Generations Selects Figure Completing Orthia

Photos from the Philippines and Taiwan show Autobot Lancer in the same box style as Combat Megatron. Rumor says Hasbro will reveal her at SDCC and sell her on Hasbro Pulse right away. One host loves obscure characters and will buy her regardless of quality, since she is the last of her team. The bright orange first photos look oversaturated, and toned-down shots look better. Lancer includes her half of the combined gun, which Greenlight lacked. The crew loves the car mode. [Source: TFormers]

SDCC 2019 Super Cyborg Megatron Exclusive From Super7

Super7 follows last year’s anatomical Optimus Prime with a partially transparent Megatron. One host likes the idea but expects it to cost more than he wants to pay. Another now wants a matching wireframe Galvatron. [Source: TFormers]

Transformers: The Manga Coming This Winter From Viz

Viz will collect the TV Magazine Transformers manga, starting with volume one this winter. One host calls it his favorite news of the back half of the year. For much of late G1 in Japan, the manga is nearly the only fiction available. He hopes later volumes include the story pages from Return of Convoy and Operation Combination. Rob says Viz usually finishes its collections. One host remains wary after IDW left its G.I. Joe hardcovers unfinished, but will buy it anyway. [Source: TFormers]

What’s on TFormers This Week

Chris and Rob’s video review of the Flame Toys Furai Model Bumblebee is up, with a Thundercracker photo essay on the way. TakaraTomy stock photos show Siege Mirage and Siege SG-39 Omega Supreme. Siege Optimus Prime only reaches Omega Supreme’s knee. Rob says both arrive in December, with Omega at the usual 25,000 yen for a Titan. The crew recalls past Takara Titan differences, like Metroplex’s chrome and Devastator’s extra articulation.

What We Got This Week

Chris received a free bootleg Masterpiece Ratbat from a listener who declined credit. It is one of the knockoffs discussed two weeks earlier. Chris says he would not know it was a knockoff, and he is thrilled with the quality.

Brian got Siege Jetfire. He swapped on the Jetfire face at first but has grown used to the Skyfire face. He likes it but is unsure it is worth $80. Its backpack reminds him of Armada Jetfire’s shield, and Armada Jetfire is his Jetfire. He also got Brunt and Siege Springer, which he wishes were larger. Don finally got him a Magna Convoy after four years, though its fists look upside down. He also bought a G1 Shockwave rated C8, which he would call a C6, with a damaged fist and loose antennae.

Matt said he got absolutely nothing this week.

Diecast received a Transformers Trading Card Game Siege booster box from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. His notable pulls were a super rare Major Ultra Magnus and a Private Arcee card he knows Don will love. His review is up on tfradio.net/reviews.

John said he got the same things most of the crew got.

Rob got the Wave 3 Siege Battle Masters. He is collecting Caliburst, which uses the Siege Targetmaster mold, since he has none of the TakaraTomy versions. He likes Smashdown for its fun alternate mode and expects its effect part to be useful.
