MP-38+ Burning Convoy Announced, a Recolor of Masterpiece Optimus Primal

Burning Convoy is the red Burning Justice form from the Beast Wars II movie, and Big Bad Toy Store has it up for preorder. Brian has always loved the original toy but never owned it. The crew expects solid colors instead of the original’s translucent red. They are puzzled by the backlash, since a “plus” redeco takes no resources from new Masterpieces. They also expect a Flash Lio Convoy to follow the new Lio Convoy. [Source: TFormers]

Unicron Watch: Backers Stall After the Extension

Diecast reports HasLab Unicron at 5,651 backers, two fewer than a week ago, with new pledges offset by cancellations. He suspects Zeta Toys’ cheaper unofficial Unicron, rumored around $300, is pulling buyers away. He still has two HasLab Unicrons on preorder and has also ordered the Zeta version. Diecast says Hasbro has shown nothing new since the extension, and that he and Neschak are producing more Unicron content than Hasbro. One host canceled his own preorder after a large auto repair bill. The crew notes the extension made it easy for others to cancel when life happens.

Siege Hot Shot Could Be a New York Comic Con Exclusive

An Entertainment Earth listing suggests Siege Hot Shot may be offered around New York Comic Con. Lancer and Galactic Man Shockwave were sold the same way at SDCC. That would make one Generations Selects release a month, after Nightbird and Zetar. The crew wonders when the third Powerdasher will appear, and one host still hopes for an orange Sunstorm. Siege Commander Class Jetfire Showing Up at Walmart for $45 Clearance

Rob heard from a trusted source that Siege Jetfire is on clearance at some Walmarts for $45, only weeks after release. The crew notes Walmart clearances are set store by store, so one price will not be honored everywhere. A commenter suggests BrickSeek, though its data can be out of date. [Source: TFormers]

Siege Apeface, Crosshairs and More in TakaraTomy Stock Photos for February 2020

Apeface is covered in battle damage, and Matt is already sad about it. One host says the milky white plastic hides the sculpted detail under natural lighting. The crew still wants Apeface anyway. Crosshairs looks vibrant, and one host is more excited than a simple repaint deserves. [Source: TFormers]

What’s on TFormers This Week

Rob points to an in-hand gallery of Siege Classic Animation Optimus Prime, with the darker faceplate the crew preferred, though this sample is missing some paint. There is also a Classic Animation Megatron gallery. TakaraTomy Mall’s web manga continues with Star Convoy versus King Poseidon, and Star Convoy is delayed on Hasbro Pulse until November 1.

What We Got This Week

Brian claimed the Cyberverse Bumblebee from his daughter’s Burger King kids meal, then ordered her another meal. He also got two Cyberverse Sharkticons from Walmart and Powerdasher Zetar. He got Generations Selects Nightbird too, but likes TakaraTomy’s Legends version much better.

Diecast got Fans Toys’ Spoiler, his third Breakdown homage, but dislikes how the back legs are the front of the car. He found Mastermind Creations’ Deadpool-themed TFCon exclusive on Taobao and got the Studio Series Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime with trailer. He also got Unique Toys’ R-02B Destroyer, a Nemesis Prime on the Challenger mold, which he will display in truck mode. He accidentally got two Zetars, plus Nightbird and two SDCC Siege booster packs. A reissue two-pack he wanted to keep boxed arrived crushed from Hasbro Pulse. He got a second MP-10G and Refraktor.

Rob received the Refraktor box set as a gift from the crew, organized by Chris, after he had to cancel his preorder. He loves the camera mode, though two-thirds of the extra camera parts have nowhere to go on the vehicle modes. Thanks to Brickinator, he also got Dial and Zor from the Bumblebee movie box set. Later he added Siege Red Alert for about $14 on Amazon.

Matt got Powerdasher Zetar, which he calls Brunt with a funny hat, and he likes it.

Don got Powerdasher Zetar and returned his Brunt as soon as Zetar was announced. He calls the Powerdashers an obscure piece of Transformers history.

Chris got Siege Omega Supreme. The joints hold its weight well, it has no stickers to apply and the tracks can form an oval. Its Micromaster Countdown is the weakest Micromaster yet, and the rocket panels do not close easily. His Zetar feels much tighter than any of his three Brunts. He also got the Refraktor box set, bringing him to six Refraktors. Secondhand, he got Robots in Disguise Adventure Stepper and Collectors Club Sideburn for under $40.
