Hasbro’s New York Comic Con 2019 event reveals Transformers Earthrise, and the crew loves its clean, G1-style look with little battle damage. Diecast saw the new seeker Starscream in person and is sold on its jet mode. Titan Class Scorponok with Zarak, Wheeljack, Hoist, Cliffjumper and Micromaster Daddy-O round out the lineup. HasLab Unicron sits under 900 backers short with three days left. Plus Japanese dino cassette preorders get canceled, and the 20th anniversary episode is coming.

HasLab Unicron Update
Diecast reports 7,109 backers, less than 900 short, with three days left. About 1,000 of those came from international backers and Hasbro partners. Unicron is on display at New York Comic Con. The new stretch rewards upgrade the hands from nine to 15 points of articulation and add a Hot Rod slug and the Autobot ship. Diecast asked John Warden why that ship, and Warden said it shares Unicron’s orange plastic. Warden also said this mold will not be reused, and the stand can hold either the ship or Unicron’s head. The crew wonders why the Quintesson ship lost out on color. [Source: not found]
NYCC 2019: Official Transformers Earthrise Reveals, Details and Images
After IGN’s first look at Earthrise, Hasbro’s event showed Leader Optimus Prime at $50 and Grapple at $30. Micromasters Daddy-O and Trip-Up from the Hot Rod Patrol appear, along with Modulator, a deluxe Weaponizer-style base. John Warden said more bases are coming. One host notes the reaction is the opposite of Siege’s, and the crew credits the lack of battle damage. Don wishes Siege had used more Cybertronian modes now that Earthrise is G1 2.0, and he hopes the next line goes post-1986 or G2. [Source: TFormers]
NYCC 2019: Transformers Earthrise Starscream and Zarak First Look
Diecast saw the new seeker Starscream in person, and the jet is bigger and better than the photos suggest. Zarak confirms a Titan Class Scorponok, likely a double Headmaster. The crew is excited, though one host notes Titans may be running out of characters. [Source: TFormers]
NYCC 2019: Transformers Earthrise Wheeljack, Grapple and More
Hoist looks fantastic, with a tow hitch that doubles as a base ramp and only a trace of battle damage on the hood. Cliffjumper finally looks like Cliffjumper in robot mode, though the car leans toward Windcharger, and it comes with skis. Wheeljack looks clean. Anthony learned from John Warden that Wheeljack’s gray hands and repair drone are final. [Source: TFormers]
Cyberverse Deluxes and a Maccadam Build-A-Figure
Cyberverse gets true deluxes, and at least two waves are planned. Maccadam is a Build-A-Figure split across eight figures, which the crew calls the second Transformers Build-A-Figure after Transmutate. One host also points out Sound Barrier with Growl and Dropshot, two of his favorite Battle Patrol Micromasters. [Source: not found]
Japanese Dino Cassette Preorders Canceled by Hasbro Pulse
Several people, Matt included, had their Japanese dino cassette reissue preorders canceled. Some were told part of the inventory arrived damaged and could not be sold. One host would rather have been offered a discount. [Source: TFormers]
20th Anniversary Episode
Brian announces the 20th anniversary episode on October 15. He invites listeners to send favorite moments through contact@tfradio.net or a Twitter DM.
What We Got This Week
Brian is recording from a hotel near Washington, D.C. and had nothing with him to show.
Chris got Siege Impactor and Mirage from Amazon. Impactor’s upper body becomes a turret that turns 360 degrees, with the rifle as its main gun. He calls it a chunky, satisfying deluxe and wishes the shoulder cannon used a 5mm peg. Mirage looks good in robot mode, but the very clear blue panels take stress during transformation. He has the fan-vote three-pack on preorder for its fuller deco. He also got the Off Road Patrol Micromasters from Amazon Warehouse at nearly half off, in better shape than his full-price toys.
Matt got Siege Impactor, with thin paint on the head, and Masterpiece Anime Bluestreak. The Bluestreak mold is showing its age with floppy knees, and he hopes the Smokescreen version is its last use. He also found the red Cog-mold Weaponizer from the fan-vote three-pack on eBay.
Don returned Power of the Spark Jetfire and Shockwave after watching video reviews. Instead he got Cyberverse Warrior Class Jetfire, with Classics-style pop-out cannons, and Drift, both marked down to $11.92 at Walmart. His Japanese dino cassettes and Frenzy reissue arrived too.
Diecast got Power Rangers this week, not Transformers.
