Fans Toys revives its shelved Soundwave as Robot Paradise RP-01, and Dr. Wu teams with Mechfanstoys on a Legends-scale Arcee. In the haul, Don beats everyone to Studio Series 86 Slag, and Chris details everything wrong with Kingdom Tracks.

First Look at Generations Selects Galvatron

Transformers Tuesday showed Generations Selects Galvatron in G1 toy colors. Most of the crew loves it, though one host sees an opportunity cost and others wish for the eHobby anime colors. Most fan backlash targets the foil stickers, which product copy says are optional. One host notes the unpainted belt and purple helmet horns. The crew debates whether it reflects Marvel’s Galvatron or the Creation Matrix colors. One host expects Shattered Glass Jetfire, rumored near $100, to arrive a week or two after the $104.99 Jurassic Park set. Several hosts preordered Galvatron anyway. [Source: TFRadio]

Fans Toys FT-02 Is Now Robot Paradise RP-01

Fans Toys’ long-shelved Soundwave, first shown before TakaraTomy announced Masterpiece Soundwave, returns redesigned as Robot Paradise RP-01. The crew suspects the new name eases pressure from Hasbro and TakaraTomy. The figure offers toy and cartoon looks, though the crew finds the optional cassette door detail off. It sold out quickly, and one host preordered through Taobao for about $100 less. Fans Toys also showed physical Trailbreaker and Hoist prototypes, which worries Don about supply. [Source: TFSource]

Dr. Wu and Mechfanstoys Arcee

Dr. Wu has teamed with Mechfanstoys, also labeled Mechanic Studio, on a Legends-scale Arcee. Diecast likes how it looks for the size, without an overbearing backpack. Don says he is Arcee’d out unless a good Headmaster Arcee appears. Kingdom Arcee is already warming shelves, and Blade in Discord pitches a Pretender Arcee. [Source: not found]

The Next Two Figures in the Premium Finish Series Revealed

Premium Finish adds 2007 movie Megatron and Siege Ultra Magnus. Megatron looks nice, but the crew calls Ultra Magnus the worst use of the mold yet. The scorched gray cab robot is accurate to nothing, not even the Netflix show. The crew expects a price around $80 to $85. Don still wants a Diaclone Ultra Magnus, though another host would rather have one from the Kingdom mold. [Source: BWTF]

Studio Series 86 Sweep

A photo of Studio Series 86 Sweep shows it is Scourge with the open and closed hands swapped. The crew finds that funny but clever, since the show never distinguished Scourge from the Sweeps. [Source: not found]

What We Got This Week

Don received a mystery gift of a carded ReAction Starscream, likely from Matt. He also picked up the Netflix sparkle Seeker, liking the wash on the Netflix Datsun drone. His big find was Studio Series 86 Slag at Walmart. Slag has good heft, clever leg and shoulder engineering, and gold-painted toes under the tail. The wing panels pop off on friction hinges, and tabbing the tail into place takes patience. He would like all five Dinobots boxed together.

Chris got a 2014 Rhinox from Matt, which he prefers to Kingdom’s. Matt also slipped in a knockoff orange Combiner Wars Air Raid that Chris may call Sunburn. He found the Netflix sparkle Thundercracker and Optimus Primal at Walmart. Kingdom Scorponok disappoints him, with a short robot, an open chest in beast mode and no standing on its legs. He also got Kingdom Wingfinger. Kingdom Tracks is far less than he hoped, with loose hips, fenders that pop off and clear plastic you must stress to transform. He is glad he still has the Reveal the Shield Road Rage.

Diecast is commissioning a custom Netflix drone named after him, with a G2 symbol, and bought two more drones for its army. He got Core Class Dracodon and Kingdom Wheeljack, a straight Earthrise repack. Fans Hobby Nightwalker, its Nightbeat, is basically a recolored Athena. Fans Toys reissues of a gray-chest Bombshell and Mercenary, its Kickback, round out his week.

Matt found the Netflix sparkle Seeker. Its joints are tight, but the Targetmaster clips are bent and need a hairdryer. He says the colors look no better in person.

Rob got Nonnef repair bay accessory packs for Earthrise Ironhide and Ratchet, plus Generations Selects Black Roritchi and a couple of Micromasters.

John had nothing this week.

Brian got a boxed Japanese Crosshairs and a sealed Japanese Cloudburst. He finally got TakaraTomy Baldigus, a Bruticus redeco he has wanted since owning a knockoff as a kid.
