Target Listings Reveal Transformers Legacy Wave 1

Target inventory listings, credited to Voltrace and Nova Maximus on TFW2005, surfaced an hour before the show. The next Generations trilogy is said to be Legacy, starting with Evolution. Core Class has Soundwave, likely a Kingdom repack, and a mysterious Energon Monster. Guesses for the Energon Monster range from Kremzik to a Fossilizer-style successor. Deluxes include Tarantulas, Skids, Dragstrip and Kickback, confirming leaks of a Stunticon redo. Voyagers include Blaster, likely a Kingdom wave 5 rerun, plus Bulkhead and Armada Starscream. One host loves the Armada Starscream design and hopes for a Sideways redo. The Leader is Dragon Megatron, assumed to be Transmetal 2 Megatron. One host would be annoyed if Transmetal Megatron gets skipped. Mid-show, a Voyager Inferno listing appeared, and the crew hopes for the Beast Wars fire ant. [Source: not found]

Studio Series 86 Listings at a New $8.49 Price Point

Studio Series listings share a new $8.49 price point, between Core Class and the old Battle Master tier. They include Studio Series 86 Rumble, Ravage, Dark of the Moon Laserbeak and a Wheelie from the Bumblebee movie sequel. A Ratchet listing carries both Studio Series 86 and sequel prefixes, which baffles the crew. One host guesses it could be a small clear hologram figure, while another host suspects a listing error. Stolen Samples: Kingdom Pipes, Shadow Panther and Blue Bluestreak

Stolen factory samples show Kingdom Pipes, Kingdom Shadow Panther and a blue Bluestreak, credited here to Autobase Aichi instead of the leakers. The blue Bluestreak may be a Target exclusive, possibly named Silver Streak. It uses the Smokescreen front bumper, and one host says it looks great. The crew hopes Pipes comes with his two pipes and notes his arms are white instead of silver. Shadow Panther recalls the Walmart exclusive Tripredacus Agent, whose carded listings now run $175 to $200. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Icon Heroes Unicron Pen Holder

Icon Heroes is selling a $60 Unicron pen holder. The crew jokes that Diecast has to own it, though some think it looks terrible. One host suggests a third party make a Quintesson ship pen to plug into the eye. Icon Heroes also has G1 box art pin sets, including Grimlock with Ironhide and Starscream with Shockwave. One host loves that they chose toy Ironhide’s box art. [Source: Icon Heroes]

What We Got This Week

Chris reviews Studio Series 86 Wreck-Gar. It feels like a big Deluxe, but its simple, stable design transforms easily without instructions. He likes the free-spinning wheels, the spinning axe, the swiveling soft handlebars and the hidden dual kickstands. The only snag is prying out the windshield section. He calls it one of the nicer Studio Series 86 figures so far, and a second one is on the way.

Matt found Leader Class Studio Series 86 Slag at Walmart and calls it really good, with no pop-off issues. He also got Netflix Deep Cover, whose blue is entirely paint over gray plastic. He suspects a late deco change and may use it for a custom Clampdown. Studio Series 86 Wreck-Gar arrived thanks to Chris’s Hasbro Toy Shop alert, and Matt plans a second for motorcycle mode. His one nitpick is the hollow space under the arms.

Diecast got a Shattered Glass knockoff of Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime and likes the colors, though it does not feel sturdy. He also got a “pumpkin edition” Unicron in orange and lighter gray, which he will keep in robot mode. At Ollie’s he found Autobot Lancer for a future all-female combiner team.

Rob had only a non-Transformers pickup this week. His Wreck-Gar and Movie Masterpiece Optimus Prime were still in transit.

Don found a boxed Grimlock to go with his boxed Slag, plus a ReAction Mirage and a Buzzworthy Bumblebee for $5 each at GameStop. From eBay he got X-Transbots Boost, its Windcharger homage, for $35. He also got X-Transbots Herald, its take on Crosscut, for $60 shipped. Don likes Boost’s head sculpt but not its transformation, and Herald stands apart from the Savant mold.

Brian found R.E.D. Bumblebee locally, his only retail find in weeks. He got a licensed Transformers bubble blower, a boxed Transformers 2010 Cyclonus and World’s Smallest Transformers Red Alert, Megatron and Jazz. A Henkei! Henkei! Galvatron in a different deco cost him $5. He also got Superlink Arcee in its limited Paradron-type deco for $25. His main pickup is two Studio Series 86 Deluxe Sharkticons. He calls them a nice likeness with good detail. The fin peg pops out in shark mode, and the rear universal-joint hips barely hold the weight. He still prefers the Titans Return Sharkticon and bought three more of those during the show.
