More Generations 2022 leaks add Core Class Iguanus, Deluxe Pointblank, Leader Blitzwing and a Titan Class Cybertron Metroplex. Fan First Friday reveals Studio Series 86 Perceptor and Coronation Starscream, and Leader Class boxes lose their windows.
New photos show the Masterpiece Cliffjumper test shot in vehicle mode, and a first look at Masterpiece Raiden’s Shouki worries the crew. Brian’s haul runs to 30 items, including carded G2 Minibots.
News
New Target listings since last week add Core Class Iguanus. Some expect the Pretender Iguanus, while others think a Beast Wars Iguanus fits Rattrap’s engineering. Deluxe Pointblank arrives without a confirmed Targetmaster. One host suspects Walmart retro Targetmasters may supply partners for Pointblank and Sureshot. Crankcase, an Earthrise Soundwave repack and Voyager Bulkhead also appear. The crew suspects Bulkhead is Transformers Prime Bulkhead, alongside a Deluxe Arcee listing. Leader Blitzwing follows Astrotrain at Leader Class, which the crew credits to triple-changer engineering. Trusted sources name the next Titan as Cybertron Metroplex, which confuses the crew. One host would rather see Tidal Wave. A $22.99 Energon Monster listing joins the $9.99 one. [Source: TFRadio]
Official Photos of Cyberverse Ultimate Class Hot Rod and Volcanicus
Cyberverse adds an Ultimate Class Hot Rod and an Ultimate Class Volcanicus, the Dinobot combiner as a single figure. One host loves Volcanicus and thinks its beast mode resembles Sixshot’s wolf. The design carries little of the individual Dinobots beyond dinosaur-head kneecaps and wings. Don jokes that the Dinobots summon Volcanicus with their power rings. [Source: BWTF]
Hasbro Pulse Fan First Friday Reveals New Studio Series 86 Releases
Fan First Friday nearly got lost under the weekend’s leaks. Leader Class figures will move to windowless boxes, like Commander Class. The crew worries about figure swaps at retail, citing a Sky Lynx box with a preschool toy inside. One host notes Studio Series box flaps open without disturbing the tape. One host thinks the change keeps Leader prices from rising further. Studio Series 86 Perceptor is a genuine surprise and looks great, shown as an early gray engineering pilot. Coronation Starscream gets a new face, hinged fingers and the Nemesis command throne. Sweep rounds out the reveals with a more toy-leaning deco than Scourge. [Source: BWTF]
Masterpiece Cliffjumper Test Shot in Robot and Vehicle Mode
New photos show the likely Masterpiece Cliffjumper test shot, now in vehicle mode. Two hosts like the vehicle mode, which keeps Penny Racer proportions like the Masterpiece Bumblebee it is compared with. The clear windows let his face show through in vehicle mode. One host suggests a third party should make a scaled-up penny add-on. [Source: Autobase Aichi]
First Look at Masterpiece Raiden Trainbot Shouki
A possible first look shows Shouki, leader of the Trainbots, as part of Masterpiece Raiden. One host likes it as a standalone robot but has misgivings about combining it. Another thinks test-shot colors make it look busier than final production will, and compares it to Combiner Wars Devastator from the other direction. Nobody knows yet how the Masterpiece Trainbots will be released. The crew notes the original Trainbots are all engines, with no train cars among them. [Source: TFormers]
The next Fan First Friday is all but stated to launch a Transformers HasLab, and everybody expects Star Saber. Masterpiece Raiden is in the works as a regular release instead. Pulse Con should follow next month.
What We Got This Week
Don got Wreck-Gar from Hasbro Pulse. He also bought Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee Optimus Prime at Target after it sat in his car for over a week.
Diecast got two Wreck-Gars and used the four wheels to build a quad, which Wreck-Gar can sit on. He added an upgrade kit for Core Class Soundwave with folding feet. He also found a launch gantry crawler on eBay that carries the Titan Class Ark. Commander Class Rodimus Prime impresses him with Leader-level engineering in a Voyager-sized robot.
Rob also got Commander Class Rodimus Prime. The legs fight to lock together, and the Matrix effect part arrived broken. It has grown on him since, though it feels complex for complexity’s sake. Wreck-Gar arrived the same day, and Rob loves its simpler, fun transformation.
Chris had nothing this week.
Brian filled out his World’s Smallest Transformers from Mandarake, including Sideswipe, Ultra Magnus, Prowl, Thrust and the Optimus Prime versus Megatron set. A rushed Fan First Friday order brought Kingdom Wheeljack and Cyber Battalion Sideswipe. From Japan he got Superlink Arcee, Superlink Dinobot and carded Transformers Adventure figures, including Grimlock, Nemesis Prime, Black Shadow and Roadblock. He also got Rhinox, two Wreck-Gars, Commander Class Rodimus Prime and the Titan Class Ark. Target yielded Cyberverse repacks of Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Ramjet and Megatron. A 1987 Transformers 2010 watch came with pewter Rodimus Convoy and Metroplex figures. He opened Movie Masterpiece Bumblebee Optimus Prime, bought with a Target RedCard coupon, and likes the lighter color. Carded G2 Beachcomber, Seaspray and Bumblebee from TransformerLand complete his G2 Minibots. Last is an August 1984 Marvel Age with a three-page Transformers preview.
