Exvee hosts while Brian is in Ohio. Masterpiece Skyfire is revealed as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive in Japan at a lower price than expected, with mini Optimus Prime, Jazz and Wheeljack figures that have Don hoping for a Masterpiece Jazz. Hasbro will attend SDCC after all, and the crew wonders what it can bring on short notice. Legacy Motormaster turns up in Australia, Walmart’s Velocitron line leaks an IDW Blurr, and a transforming Optimus Primal face mask surfaces. A Hasbro Pulse 40% off sale shapes most of the haul.

Hasbro Will Attend San Diego Comic-Con 2022

Hasbro announced during its G.I. Joe livestream that it will be at SDCC next month. Exvee notes the canceled shows of the past two years sent every exclusive straight to online sales, which made them easy to get. Diecast wonders whether exclusives can even be ready in time. Don floats re-stickering warehouse stock as exclusives, which the crew doubts. They expect a token presence, perhaps Legacy wave 2 or early wave 3 samples. [Source: not found]

Masterpiece Skyfire Revealed

Masterpiece Skyfire came in cheaper than the crew expected, likely because the engineering is simpler than MP-44. It nods to the Valkyrie with a Gerwalk pose and faceplate, which Exvee notes both appear in Transformers media. In Japan it is a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive, so Hasbro-market buyers wait for a later run. Diecast preordered from Chosen Prime for $268. Matt feels the Siege Skyfire is big enough. Don thinks the included mini Jazz could tease a Masterpiece Jazz. [Source: TakaraTomy Mall]

Masterpiece Trainbot MPG-03 Yukikaze Announced

The third Trainbot is a leg. Diecast wanted one in hand before committing, since three run about $400 together. The crew notes the train mode is clearly the priority, with lots of panels and clear plastic. Matt preordered the first two, but the third vanished from Big Bad Toy Store. [Source: TakaraTomy Mall]

Official Promo Video for the First Three Trainbots

TakaraTomy’s CG promo gives a close look at Raiden’s head, which seems to be a separate add-on piece. Exvee calls that an acceptable compromise for a first Masterpiece combiner. [Source: YouTube]

G.I. Joe x Transformers A.W.E. Striker Bumblebee Revealed

The next crossover pre-sold out on Pulse at about $70. Don hates the lemon-lime colors and says the robot looks like an afterthought. Rob thinks its parts feel more integrated than the H.I.S.S. tank Megatron. The crew would rather see it as Beachcomber, ideally G2 Beachcomber. One host plans to buy it anyway and wonders who the crossovers are really for. [Source: Hasbro Pulse]

Legacy Motormaster Found in Australia

HaloHunter553 shared photos and a video review. Motormaster fills about a third of the Commander Class box. As Menasor he stands head to head with Volcanicus and looks chunkier, and Nightsword confirms the chest plate can come off. Matt is in love with it. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Super7 Transformers Ultimates Next Wave

The wave brings Fallen Optimus Prime, Soundwave with a Marvel Comics head but not the comic’s purple deco, and a non-ghost Starscream. The crew pitches Dark Awakening Optimus Prime as a convention exclusive. One host thinks factory delays explain the reuse, and another just wants a zombie Prime. [Source: not found]

Walmart Velocitron IDW Blurr Leaked

The leaked Blurr is the IDW design, retooled from Studio Series 86 Blurr with a new vehicle mode. Nightsword notes it comes from the Windblade miniseries. Exvee is surprised to find he likes it, though the wheels are only molded on. One host still loves the old Generations IDW Blurr. [Source: not found]

New Stock Photos of Legacy Deluxe Wave 2

The photos show Wild Rider’s alternate backpack without the hood cape. Tarantulas still looks brilliant. Exvee wishes Elita-1’s weapons were not clear plastic. [Source: TFW2005 boards]

Transforming Rise of the Beasts Optimus Primal Face Mask

The mask turns into a small Optimus Primal robot. The crew loves the unique idea but expects it to be sized for kids. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Evan Brooks Shares More Photos of Studio Series 86 Arcee

Evan Brooks explains the Earthrise mold was not 86 enough, so the team retooled the older Thrilling 30 Arcee instead. Exvee likes the added poseability and how everything tabs together, and another host calls the older toy the better base. [Source: Instagram]

Hasbro Pulse Sale

Hasbro Pulse ran 40% off qualifying orders over $75. Some orders have not shipped, and Exvee suspects some listed items were never actually in stock.

Patreon and Shirts

Exvee thanks the Touched patrons and notes they can appear on History on the Fives. Shirts are at tfradio.net/shirt.

What We Got This Week

Exvee

From the Pulse sale, Exvee got Masterpiece Reboost for a little over $50, a Core Class Skywarp and the Jurassic Park crossover. He also finally handled Legacy Dragstrip, a Hasbro comp from Brian. He calls the robot mode solidly basic and loves the vehicle mode, especially the hollow head used as the driver’s seat.

Diecast

Diecast hit the sale four times for Premium Finish Siege Optimus Prime, a second set of MP-53 and MP-54, and the Premium Finish SS-01 Volkswagen Bumblebee. He built the Lego Optimus Prime and rates it 9.5 out of 10 after nudging the faceplate up. He hopes Soundwave comes next. His Core Class Exo-Suit Spike came with two right thighs, and his DK-2 Guard from Big Bad Toy Store arrived without its gun.

Don

Don missed a second Shattered Glass Skyfire, but the sale got him DK-2 Guard (Shattered Glass Goldbug) and Shattered Glass Blurr.

Matt

Matt bought nothing in the sale.

Rob

Rob’s pickups this week were not Transformers.
