Walmart’s Legacy G2 Toxitron Collection
Walmart’s Toxitron Collection turns unreleased G2 designs into Legacy toys. The headliner, Toxitron, was a planned Universe toy on the G2 Laser Optimus Prime mold, while the rest reference G2. The lineup includes a Voyager Cloudcover, a G2 Jazz, a tiger-striped Grimlock and a G2 Dead End. JTPrime expects Shadow Strip and either Sideswipe or Mirage to be short packs. Brian says it brings back how G2 felt when it was unfolding. Orders open during Walmart Collector Con at 10 a.m. Eastern. [Source: TFW2005]
More Toxitron Collection Listings and Retro Reveals
Listing info for more Toxitron Collection figures surfaced. Official photos also show Retro Thundercracker and Hound from the movie line. Brian doubts many people want to pay $35 for a reissue of G1 Hound, one of the smallest Autobot cars. [Source: TFW2005]
Rise of the Beasts Target-Exclusive Deluxe Multipacks
Rise of the Beasts Deluxe molds and decos already seen are going to Target as exclusive three-packs. Chris suspects Hasbro diverted the inventory so it would not compete with Studio Series. Brian wanted Wheeljack, Cheetor and Airazor but not in these sets, and the crew expects them to hit clearance. [Source: IGN]
Origins Jazz Arrives at Target
Origins Jazz is turning up at Target locations. Brian calls it the perfect toy, with a transformation that is nearly perfect, and wants every G1 car done like this. The crew calls it a make-good for Siege’s Cybertronian modes. [Source: not found]
What We Got This Week
Diecast
From the Hasbro Pulse warehouse sale, Diecast got Holiday Optimus Prime and Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus at 35 percent off. He also got threezero’s DLX Last Knight Optimus Prime. From Big Bad Toy Store he got Metalhawk, which he likes better than Cyclonus, and Skyquake. He also got Fans Toys Cliffjumper.
Don
Don got Make Toys’ Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker on a TFSource sale for $79 each, a better-looking seeker set for display. His Make Toys G2 Starscream arrived from a reseller with a missing face, a broken chest and misassembled waist hinges, and he hopes for a refund.
Matt
Matt got a second Legacy Dead End for a second Menasor, and it locks into car mode perfectly.
Rob
Rob got Holiday Optimus Prime from Big Bad Toy Store. It is fun to transform, though he would have swapped some black for dark green.
Brian
Brian got Legacy Metalhawk and Breakdown at Walmart and Dead End from Entertainment Earth, plus Origins Jazz and a repro bubble for Inferno. He also got a new-old-stock Walmart kids’ meal G2 puzzle lid with its bag. A vintage G1 find and a sealed Mandarake copy of a toy he already owns round out his week. eBay finally gave him a courtesy refund for the scam listing.
