Brian lands a sealed G2 Grimlock with its original KB Toys clearance tag.

Transformers Tuesday Livestream: Studio Series Mirage and Leader Optimus Primal

The livestream showed the physical sample of Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Mirage, whose deco is still being tweaked. One host maintains Mirage was originally designed as Jazz. Studio Series Leader Optimus Primal will get a darker body color to match the movie. The crew loves the vehicle mode but finds the robot mode monochrome, with odd feet. One host canceled a Takara Tomy Optimus Primal preorder because both versions feel bland. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Legacy Evolution Core Class Optimus Prime and Bumblebee With Trailer

A Pulse-exclusive set packs core class Optimus Prime and Bumblebee with a new trailer, roller and drone. One host calls $40 steep for two reissued core class figures. Another will buy it for an official Optimus Prime with trailer at his preferred scale. The crew expects it to show up in a later Pulse sale. Bumblebee now fits inside the better-scaled trailer. Legacy Shadow Striker, Bombshell, Strongarm and Detritus

Hasbro acknowledged Shadow Striker’s BotCon and Cyberverse roots and said Bombshell’s cartoon colors drove the team crazy. Several hosts say Strongarm should be bigger than the Alita mold allows. Another calls it the best possible retool short of a new mold. Brian asks why Detritus is a thing, and one host points to the year of the Junkions. The crew wishes Detritus wore only a Mercenary symbol. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Legacy Core Class Snarl Completes Volcanicus

Core class Snarl looks great, and the crew says he and Swoop beat their Power of the Primes deluxes. The finished Volcanicus has one bright red leg that draws the eye. Matt looks forward to the Dinoking version, though another host doubts unified colors will help much. One host compares the proportions to the GoBots combiner Monsterous. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

First Look at Legacy Bludgeon

Legacy Bludgeon is Tarn with a new head and sword, and the crew says the chest plate needed to change too. One host likes the vehicle mode better in these colors. JTPrime says Bludgeon packs one per case. The crew expects a third party to make a replacement chest plate. [Source: BWTF]

Legacy Trashmaster Forms a Junkion Dinosaur

The crew calls Voyager Trashmaster the greatest thing ever. Mark Maher shared that it is designed to combine with Crashbar, Scraphook and other Junkion deluxes into a junk dinosaur. Mark calls it Junkasaurus, and the crew suggests Tyrannosaurus Refuse, which becomes the episode title. One host wants a Crashbar redeco so the dinosaur can have four unique limbs. The crew guesses the face could become Heatwave or a Rhinox. [Source: BWTF]

Legacy Dreadwing, Ironhide and Prowl 2-Pack and Troop Builder Set

Dreadwing is a straight Skyquake recolor in blue with a new gun. The Buzzworthy Ironhide and Prowl set gets plug-in blast effects, and the crew wants smoke effects if a Ratchet and Brawn set follows. One host also wants a Dark Awakening Optimus Prime. Brian joins the praise for the Troop Builder four-pack, especially Skullgrin as Quintesson troopers. He preordered from Target after Pulse sold out in 15 minutes. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Volvo Optimus Prime and Selects Antagony

A Volvo-licensed Optimus Prime reuses the holiday Optimus Prime mold, and one host loves the black and red midsection. Others would rather have a G2 Optimus Prime on this mold. Selects Antagony recreates the BotCon 1998 exclusive with an alternate Transmetal Scavenger head. One host notes Inferno’s chest has always hidden Scavenger detailing. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Retro Perceptor In-Hand Images

Screenshots show Retro Perceptor in cartoon colors, which the crew says suit Perceptor better than any Retro figure. One host is definitely buying it. JTPrime says Retro Kickback should arrive at the same time. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

In-Hand Photos of Titan Class Nemesis

New photos show Titan Class Nemesis in full deco. One host is not enamored with the robot but will buy it for the ship mode, arguably better than the Ark’s. [Source: Facebook]

Stock Photos of Toxitron Collection Wave 2

New photos show the Toxitron Collection’s G2 lineup, including Sideswipe and Laser Cycle. Laser Cycle redecos Road Rocket in the unreleased G2 Jazz colors. One host who grew up in G2 wants two of everything. JTPrime says Laser Cycle and Dead End are short-packed. G2 Grimlock has only appeared in packaging so far. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

Transformers Studio Series 86 Deluxe Brawn In-Hand Images

One host watched a transformation video of Studio Series 86 Brawn and found a lot of interesting engineering for such a simple character. [Source: TFW2005]

Target Exclusive ReAction Beast Wars Figures

Target exclusive ReAction figures include clear Megatron with golden disk and metallic Optimus Primal with a spark. One host says the Beast Wars ReAction figures stand out among the line. [Source: TFW2005 boards]

Robosen Officially Debuts G1 Bumblebee Performance Robot

Robosen’s non-transforming G1 Bumblebee robot walks and dances. The crew likes the movement but not the styling. One host would pay about $100 if it went on sale. [Source: Robosen]

What We Got This Week

Chris

Chris had nothing this week.

Matt

Matt used the Pulse sale to get a second Titan Guardian Omega Sentinel.

Don

For his birthday, Don received ReAction Arcee from Andrew, whom he guesses is Diecast. With trade credit at Nerd Bombers, Don got Diaclone Burnout and a loose, complete Universal Studios EVAC. He also got the helicopter carrier from the same third-party naval line as last month’s aircraft carrier. Don ordered YiJiang’s Calculation King, a Computron homage, from AliExpress for $60.

Rob

Rob’s pickups this week were not Transformers.

Diecast

Diecast loves the Yolopark model kits, which he calls build-a-figures, and will buy every one. He also got Fans Toys cassettes and a second Titan Guardian Omega Sentinel. At Target he found core class Snarl and Swoop for $10 each and canceled his preorders. He added an upgrade kit for Menasor with a new chest, bigger sword and extra feet. He reminds listeners the Yolopark G1 Megatron Kickstarter ends in days.

Brian

Brian got the Nerf Optimus Prime blaster, which does not always fire, and the Cinemark Optimus Prime popcorn bucket. He finds Rise of the Beasts Voyager Optimus Prime nice but small and in need of paint. His best find is a sealed G2 Grimlock with its original $10 KB Toys clearance tag. Brian says he is narrowing his collection to G1, G2 and Beast Wars.
