Transformers Legacy United Wave 1 Official Pics and Pre-Orders

Hasbro opened Legacy United at Pulse Con with a Rock Lords twist. The new Infernac Universe Rock Lords turn into vehicles: Weaponizer Deluxe Magneous and Core Class Boulder Crash, a trike made of rocks. Don noted the original Rock Lords had vehicles too, so it is not unprecedented. Core Class Beast Wars II Tasmania Kid is a Snarl redeco under its Japanese name. Several hosts called Rescue Bots Chase the winner of the Deluxe assortment, though Diecast found the head too Rescue Bots for a Generations body. The crew joked that every new Windblade somehow looks worse than the last. One host thinks the new Thundertron deco beats the original but is waiting on the Walmart Starseekers Leader version. Core Class Energon Megatron looks good for its size. One host called Leader Tigerhawk unbalanced, while another argued the odd beast proportions suit the character. [Source: TFW2005]

Hasbro Pulse Con 2023 Transformers Panel Recap

The Legacy United poster, with art largely by Guido Guidi, teased Titan Class Tidal Wave and Commander Class Magmatron. The hosts were thrilled that Tidal Wave is the 2024 Titan, after earlier word suggested a Commander. Per JT Prime, the toy should come in animation colors and shed parts that interact with the Legacy Megatron and Galvatron mold. One host noted that no existing Tidal Wave toy truly matches the cartoon. Magmatron, three dinosaurs that form one robot, mirrors the original Tidal Wave concept. That led one host to ask, again, where Big Convoy is. Don also pointed to new behind-the-scenes photos that make Animated Optimus Prime look fun to pose. [Source: TFW2005]

Studio Series 86 Voyager Scrapheap First Look

A leaked first look shows a third Studio Series 86 Junkion, Scrapheap. It shares engineering with Wreck-Gar and Junkheap but is mostly new parts. One host plans to wait for it at Ross for $15, and another wished for a Nancy instead. Others said the mold family is solid but uninteresting, while the Junkion fans on the crew will buy one anyway. What We Got This Week

Chris

Chris got Generations Selects Antagony, which he calls Black Inferno, a remake of the 1998 BotCon exclusive. He had to pull out the instructions to transform it. The black plastic has some gloss, and the warm metallic purple paint on the back really pops. It includes the mold’s alternate head based on the Transmetal Scavenger toy, but Chris prefers the original head for accuracy. His copy has a malformed abdomen hinge that lets that panel fall off. He wants Hasbro to keep remaking BotCon exclusives, starting with the Fractal and Pack Rat two-pack.

Diecast

Diecast was so excited about Legacy Bombshell that he threw the box away, then dug the accessories out of the trash. Bombshell’s arms do not tab in straight, which he finds odd for such a simple transformation. He found Studio Series NEST Bumblebee at Burlington for $10. Target clearance gave him the Buzzworthy Studio Series 86 Ironhide and Prowl two-pack for about $16, even though he already had them. He also got a Fans Toys Gears homage and is buying two of each so one can stay in each mode.

Rob

Rob’s pickups this week were all off-topic.

Don

Don got Legacy Bludgeon in an uncrushed box from Amazon; he likes the color but finds the tank mode fiddly. He opened Core Class Snarl and picked up Fans Toys Pipes, which he prefers to Huffer. Legacy Trashmaster is still in the box. At Ollie’s he found a boxed Beast Wars Scorponok for $15, plus Optimus Primal and Megatron as gifts for a friend. Super7 Ultimates Tracks is uncanny in hand, but it is Tracks and he loves it. Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus looks great, though the tiny antennae are a pain to fit. Don says he will never need another Ultra Magnus unless it is Killing Jar Magnus.

Matt

Matt got Legacy Axlegrease and loves the head sculpt, but the Shattered Glass colors and Decepticon symbol bother him. Legacy Trashmaster is solid and reminds him of a Playskool Transformer in a good way. Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus has a lot of Masterpiece Ultra Magnus in the arms, with far better shoulder articulation. He calls it peak Ultra Magnus and says he may never need another. At Walmart he found Toxitron Collection Dead End and Sideswipe hidden on a top shelf, and he will get them to a collector rather than a scalper.

Brian

Brian opened Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus in pre-show and likes its size better than the Masterpiece. He opened Legacy Bludgeon during the show and hates it. He loves the cheap Dollar Tree Optimus Prime and Bumblebee masks, and the Optimus mask works as Optimus Primal too. A boxed Japanese G2 Dreadwing from Mandarake came with all its paperwork. Brian’s next rabbit hole is the South American Transformers releases, starting with an orange Estrela Powertron.
