Legacy United Deluxe G1 Universe Optimus Prime Revealed

Legacy United G1 Universe Optimus Prime looks great, but Brian’s zeal is blunted because Missing Link Convoy just came out. It has full articulation, light-piped eyes, cartoon and anime blasters, a Matrix and smokestacks that work as blast-effect weapons. The crew sees it as a desk fiddle toy, while Missing Link stays on display. One host hopes it pairs with the Earthrise trailer and would love a G2 reissue, and another does not feel he needs it. Jared in the chat called it Consolation Prime, which became the episode title. JT Prime says it packs three per case, with preorders on Hasbro Pulse June 13. [Source: Mark Maher on Instagram]

Generations Selects GoBots Three-Pack Official Reveal

The GoBots three-pack is official, with Treads, Pathfinder and Small Foot. Don loves that Pathfinder’s flag carries the Guardian grid. Everyone on the crew is buying it, and one host is getting it for the Cosmos-mold Pathfinder. Don wishes Treads had a little yellow to match the original disguise. One host appreciates that skipping another Bug Bite keeps the price down. Python Patroller coined pedantric for Don’s nitpicking. [Source: Snakas Blog]

Legacy Quake Revealed

Legacy Quake, with colors not final, completes the Targetmaster trio with Spinister and Needlenose. One host likes the robot mode, but the tank mode is clearly a folded-up robot. The crew agreed the G1 Quake looked more cohesive as a tank. Another likes the Skullgrin mold and double Targetmasters and will display it in robot mode anyway. [Source: Mark Maher on Instagram]

Legacy Slipstream Revealed

Legacy Slipstream, colors not final, is another Windblade mold. One host likes the colors and head sculpt, and another calls it the best Windblade mold technically. Matt wants a Slipstream built on a Starscream, as a proper female Seeker. Mark Maher says he passed that request to the design team, and one host added a request for Sunstorm. First Look at Lego Bumblebee

The next Lego Transformers set, Bumblebee, looks great for Lego in both modes. One host has not even opened his Lego Optimus Prime but will buy it. Diecast noted the car avoids Volkswagen branding and looks more like a 1930s roadster, which the crew is fine with as long as Bumblebee is not a sports car. [Source: Snakas Blog]

Metalhawk Package Refresh With Modified Deco

Metalhawk is getting a package refresh with a modified deco that looks brighter, with darker grays and a less muted gold. Mark Maher says gold plastic is a real problem to work with. One host will buy it just because the deco changed, and the crew agreed it is a great figure if you missed it. [Source: Mark Maher on Instagram]

Studio Series Comic Edition Straxus In-Hand Images

In-hand photos of Comic Edition Straxus look as expected and good. It has shading down the left leg and halftone dots printed on the torso to mimic old comic coloring. The crew would still like a clean deco release to match the rest of their shelves. [Source: TFW2005]

Possible First Look at Transformers One Bumblebee Kids Meal Toys

Burger King may be getting Transformers One kids meal toys, starting with a hollow Bumblebee. One host thinks kids meal toys used to be better. Another remembered the solid Super Mario Bros. 3 toys and misses weighty chunks of plastic. [Source: TFW2005]

Core Class Energon Galvatron and Rock Lord Repaint Teased

During the show, Evan Brooks posted a Boulder Crash repaint and Core Class Energon Galvatron on Instagram. The crew found Galvatron very yellow, though one host checked and found the cannons were yellow in the Energon animation. [Source: not found]

First Look at Jada Toys 1:32 Porsche 935 Turbo G1 Jazz

Jada Toys revealed a 1:32 die-cast Porsche 935 Turbo G1 Jazz, plus a Tracks and a 1:24 scale version. One host likes it but says it makes him want a Masterpiece or Missing Link Jazz. Another thinks a Jazz Masterpiece is overdue, and the crew suspects Hasbro doubts it would sell like Bumblebee. [Source: TFW2005]

What We Got This Week

Don

Don had nothing on topic this week.

Diecast

Diecast used the Hasbro Pulse sale to grab the G.I. Joe crossover Thunder Machine Soundwave at 35 percent off, about $65. He also got Legacy Antagony after missing it the first time, and he calls it a pretty figure with that purple head.

Matt

Matt got a second Generations Selects G2 Ramjet. One stays with his Seekers, and the other joins his Toxitron Collection display.

Rob

Rob had nothing on topic this week.

Brian Kilby

Brian opened Legacy Tigerhawk. It is a downgrade from the near-Masterpiece original, but the radically different deco looks nice on his shelf. His Suruga-ya order brought a boxed Super Spy Changer from Takara’s 2003 lottery line for about $20. From Mandarake he got a Japanese boxed G2 Laser Rod Electro for $40, which he will never touch again for fear of the gold plastic.
