Generations Skids, Goldfire, Waspinator and Dreadwing Official Images

Official images and bios are up, and the wave is now on preorder at Big Bad Toy Store with the first Voyager wave. The crew thinks both repaints, Goldfire Bumblebee and Dreadwing, look better than the originals. Skids looks off to the crew, and one host blames washed-out colors modeled on More Than Meets the Eye. Another hopes Hasbro does not reuse the Bumblebee mold for the rumored Nightbeat. [Source: not found]

TFSS 2.0 Chromedome Revealed

The crew finds Chromedome’s head misshapen, and one host thanks Fans Project for its own Chromedome. They also dislike the three Autobot symbols on the car mode. The club says it may tweak some decos based on fan feedback, which the crew doubts. [Source: not found]

Original Beast Machines Megatron Prototype

A prototype of the deluxe Megatron from Beast Machines differs from the released toy, with articulated thumbs. The crew finds it interesting but does not feel cheated. [Source: not found]

Perfect Effect Warden Shows Its Vehicle Mode

New photos show Warden’s own vehicle mode, a box on treads, plus a gun taller than the figure. Don says the figure does not improve G1 Fortress Maximus and passes on it. The crew expects a price of $150 to $175. [Source: not found]

Cartoon-Style Third-Party Jetfire Prototype

A prototype for a large G1 cartoon-style Jetfire leaves the crew unconvinced, especially its fingers. Diecast and another host both hoped for a cartoon-accurate Skyfire. That host prefers a second, more accurate design from another company. [Source: not found]

Star Emperor Unicron Head in Color

Color photos of the Star Emperor Unicron head still impress the crew. The crew doubts the play set side and wishes its mouth could swallow Legends figures. [Source: not found]

iGear Announces Computer Control Center Version 2

iGear plans a second version of its playset based on the cartoon’s Autobot headquarters. The crew calls the original poorly built. They also note iGear’s $300 Seeker and Coneheads three-packs, sold only as sets. [Source: not found]

Comic Review: More Than Meets the Eye #21 and Beast Hunters #5

Exvee and Rob say little happens in Beast Hunters #5, which sets up a story tied to the Prime finale. More Than Meets the Eye #21 concludes Remain in Light, and they find it well written but less earth-shattering than the buildup suggested. Ultra Magnus survives through yet another fake-out, and Star Saber escapes. They spot hints of Quintessons and suspect Swerve opened Brainstorm’s briefcase.

Q&A with Rob Springer

James asks which classic gimmick Rob would like updated. Rob picks Mega Pretenders whose shells transform, and Action Master-style exosuits that become battle armor. He also thinks Duocons could work well with modern toy design.

Transformers Prime Retro Review: Crisscross

Aimee and Nicole review season 1, episode 12, Crisscross, written by Joseph Kuhr. June grounds Jack, and Arcee scrambles home through a ground bridge to keep up the cover story. MECH and Airachnid team up and kidnap June to lure Arcee. Jack secretly calls Agent Fowler, and Arcee wins a fight with Airachnid high above the ground. Jack finally introduces June to the Autobots, his science fiction club. Both praise the fight choreography despite a few plot conveniences.

TFSS Breakdown Ships

Subscription Service Breakdown arrived this week. Brian’s arrived undamaged, and he says the tech spec makes the figure by placing it in the Blackthorn comics universe. Diecast’s arrived damaged. Jackpot ships next month, with Ultra Mammoth last.

What We Got This Week

Brian got TFSS Breakdown, which he wanted least, but the tech spec moved it up to his third favorite in the set.

Diecast got TFSS Breakdown, found damage on it and put it back in the box without transforming it.

Exvee found a loose Takara Fall of Cybertron Skywarp for a good price. He is baffled that all the purple is paint over gray plastic but likes it as a generic purple Seeker.
