This Week in History

Transformers: Mystery of Convoy turns 29 this week; it came out for the Famicom in Japan in 1986. Brian owns a cartridge and has never passed level two. He wants to devote at least an hour of an Extra Life charity stream to it. [Source: TFWiki]

The Titans Return Fan Vote Results Are In: Trypticon

Trypticon wins the vote for the next Titan. Several hosts are bummed, though one is happy as long as a Cerebros-style robot becomes his head. One host worries he will be skinny like Metroplex. Don still wants Omega Supreme with an Ark-style ship mode. [Source: TFormers]

Unite Warriors Galvatronus Revealed, Sort Of

A Yahoo Japan article accidentally leaked Galvatronus. The torso looks like G1 Galvatron with a cartoon-colored Cyclonus on the other side. The limbs appear to be a G1 Starscream on the Aerialbot mold, an Armada Thrust and a possible Prime Breakdown. One theory says the limbs are all characters Galvatron killed. [Source: TFormers]

Fun Publications Black Friday Sale on BotCon Sets

Fun Publications sold the 2013 BotCon box set for $125, about 66 percent off. The sale also cut prices on recent club figures. Brian notes the club once promised never to discount BotCon sets. The crew stresses that talk of this being BotCon’s last year is speculation. [Source: not found]

Robots in Disguise Mini-Con Battle Pack Optimus Prime and Sideswipe

The packs pair Cyberverse Commander-size figures with armor and a Mini-Con, at about $29.99 for two. Brian thinks $15 each is a collector’s price, not a kid’s. Another host argues the packs offer more play than a Warrior class figure. One host says Warrior class prices do not match their simple decos. [Source: TFormers]

Unite Warriors Defensor First In-Hand Gallery

Groove looks like a standard Combiner Wars toy to some hosts. Don says Groove balances Defensor better than Rook. The crew dislikes the all-blue Hot Spot without his red and silver details. One host may have HeyMickey paint them back on. [Source: TFormers]

Combiner Wars Sky Lynx Side by Side With G1

New photos compare Combiner Wars Sky Lynx with the G1 toy, plus his Sky Reign combined form. Brian calls it classic Sky Lynx with better detail and articulation. The crew pitches repaints, from a purple griffon to a Victory Leo-inspired combiner. [Source: TFormers]

G1 Package Art Prints at Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby sells prints of G1 package art. Brian dislikes how the art is cropped. Several hosts would rather have single, uncropped box-art prints. [Source: TFormers]

The Return of Masterpiece Ramjet: Preorders Open for Real

Masterpiece Ramjet is back up for preorder at about $175. One host says he does not need Ramjet that badly. Brian jokes about who might have preordered it. [Source: TFormers]

Hasbro Toy Shop Restocks Legends, Warriors and Deployers

Hasbro Toy Shop now has Generations Legends, Robots in Disguise Warriors and Mini-Con Deployers. Don ordered the Overload Deployer and may review it.

Third-Party News

KFC Transistor Pure Red Edition

Diecast liked KFC’s Transistor but not its paint quality, which the unpainted red version fixes. Brian is holding out for the Titans Return Blaster. Another host likes the flat red and the clean transformation. [Source: TFormers]

Mastermind Creations Carnifex Gray Test Shots

MMC’s unofficial Overlord looks great in test shots, and the chest panels open. An expansion port leaves room for Powermasters. Chris will buy it as soon as preorders open, and Don calls it the affordable way to own Overlord. [Source: TFormers]

Dr. Wu Only Human Figurines

Dr. Wu’s unarticulated figures depict the human-form Autobots from “Only Human.” Don wanted poseable figures. The crew wants Old Snake, Michelle and a seated pilot for Ultra Magnus. [Source: TFormers]

This Week on the Network

Brian will post two Transformers Rewind episodes on “Only Human.” RFC Mini-cast 36 covers the Titans Return vote, and Being Awesome with Rob Springer 36 covers Q&A and Robots in Disguise. On TFormers, Exvee reviews Transformers 48, and Hisashi Yuki shares Unite Warriors Devastator unboxing photos [Source: TFormers]. Radio Free Cybertron, the RFC Mini-cast and Being Awesome each have their own feed now.

What We Got This Week

Matt got Platinum Edition Trypticon on a Cyber Monday lightning deal. He never had the mold before and really enjoys it. It feels solid, though one leg comes loose now and then. He has not put the C batteries in yet.
