Siege Omega Supreme for $20 at Hasbro Official Warehouse Sale
The in-person sale in Carlisle, Pennsylvania offered Siege Omega Supreme for $20, limited to five per person. Nobody on the crew had heard of a US sale like this before. A chat viewer reports employees called it the first one, and boxes had small dents. The crew suspects Omega Supreme was a loss leader to draw people in for overstock. Brian, drawing on past work selling to Ollie’s, says closeout chains often buy by the pallet. [Source: TFormers]
Two-Inch G1-Style Transformers Minifigures Turn Up at Dollar Tree
Rob says two-inch minifigures in G1-style packaging are appearing at Dollar Tree stores. Rob Springer tracked down where they came from and how they reached Dollar Tree, and TFormers has the details. Brian has been looking for them without luck. [Source: not found]
RFC Patreon Preview
The RFC Patreon launches January 1, 2020, at patreon.com/tfradio. The tiers are Leaving Money on the Table, Matrix Bearer and Touched. Patrons get the pre-show and post-show as a podcast. A revived monthly RFC Throwback reaches patrons two months early. The top tier adds physical swag such as RFC trading cards, a producer credit and a say in show content. At 25 patrons the show opens a Discord, and at 100 it adds a patron-exclusive podcast. The 150-patron goal is better internet for Don.
Third-Party Giveaway
Brian is clearing third-party figures out of his collection with a Twitter giveaway of 25-plus items, including Open and Play Big Cannon. Entrants follow @BKilby and @TFRadio and retweet, and the winner is drawn on Christmas Day. US shipping is covered, but international winners pay shipping and import fees. Some figures are missing parts. Brian stresses these are adult collectibles and will disqualify anyone who says they are for a child.
Transformers Reanimated
Brian again recommends the double-sized Christmas issue of the fan project Transformers Reanimated.
What We Got This Week
Don had a Target employee check the back room and came away with Siege Spinister and Crosshairs. He is still hunting Astrotrain.
Matt added more Cyberverse Sharkticons and received three Scraplets as a surprise gift from Brian.
Chris found Studio Series Dropkick for about $15. He got the Micromaster Sports Car Patrol for $5 from Amazon Warehouse, then bought the Battle Squad to finish his retail Micromasters. Matt sent him Universe 2010 Treadbolt and a Siege Cog.
Diecast bought a complete Pretender Grimlock for $60 from a friend. He finished Iron Factory’s Decepticon Justice Division with Tesarus and can now build the combiner. He also got MS-Toys’ Legends-scale Rodimus with trailer, Maketoys’ Masterpiece-style Dirge with wing fillers, and Fans Toys Goose. A bagged MP-45 Bumblebee 2.0 from Taobao looks great from the front, but he calls its backpack bad engineering. A weathered 1:24 Bumblebee die-cast car arrived as an unsigned gift.
One host compares Masterpiece to the Revenge of the Fallen era of mainline toys, overengineered and due for a simpler turn. He names Masterpiece Inferno as the peak of the line.
Brian found a hollow, Titan-sized Transformers Authentics Optimus Prime at Aldi for $8. He calls generic dollar-store robots better than Authentics. He repaired his Star Convoy chest star with a brad nail and glue and repainted it gold after yellow looked wrong. Hasbro could not supply the part, so it is sending something of equal value instead. He also found BotBots backpack clips at Dollar Tree and Series 4 blind bags at Target, including gold chase figures.
Rob received the Transformers Trading Card Game Energon Edition box from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast. An unboxing video is coming to TFormers. The RFC crew also surprised him with Siege Jetfire.
