Transformers Tuesday reveals Red Cog, a Target exclusive weapons pack built around the Netflix War for Cybertron cartoon. Buzzworthy Bumblebee Dinobot and Terrorsaur arrive in toy colors, and Dinobot still looks like a plucked chicken.

Stock photos show Studio Series Thundercracker and Age of Extinction Galvatron, and Super7 Ultimates wave 1 turns up in package. Jada’s Optimus Prime RC vehicle offers a cheaper take on the Robosen idea.

Transformers Tuesday Reveals: Red Cog And More Target Exclusives

Red Cog is a Target exclusive redeco of Cog, based on a background Cog from the Netflix cartoon. It comes with modular weapons drawn mostly from the show, plus an energon canister. One pistol doubles as an adapter so Arcee can wear Cog as a backpack, as she does on screen. A grenade borrowed from Transformers: Prime Wheeljack is also in the pack. Target has not opened preorders yet. One host wants it, and the crew notes the modular guns split and recombine. [Source: TFRadio]

Buzzworthy Dinobot and Terrorsaur

Target’s Buzzworthy Bumblebee line also adds Dinobot and Terrorsaur in decos based on their original Beast Wars toys. One host loves Terrorsaur’s robot mode, but the beast mode deco falls flat. Dinobot draws the jokes. The crew calls it the plucked chicken, or KFC Dinobot. They suspect the color mix leans too far toward pink, where the original toy leaned brown or yellow. [Source: TFRadio]

First Looks At Studio Series Thundercracker And Age of Extinction Galvatron

Stock photos show Studio Series Thundercracker, another use of the Bumblebee movie Starscream mold. One host likes the deco but does not want the toy. Studio Series Age of Extinction Galvatron gets a mixed reception. Chris notes the Unique Toys Nero does the design better, but with no limit on cost, parts or transformation time. A Voyager at around $35 has to sell at Walmart. One host says it will still be the better Transformer, since it integrates both modes. The talk turns to how Hasbro handles costs as a public company. In Package Samples of Super7 Transformers Ultimates Wave 1

In-package photos of Super7 Transformers Ultimates wave 1 surfaced from Super7’s preorder status page, mirrored on Autobase Aichi. One host is getting the whole wave and loves the packaging. Optimus Prime and Starscream use the original grid and logo style, while Banzai-Tron and Bomb-Shell switch to the later font. Starscream looks weak, but the packages look great. Super7 also reports waves 2 and 3 are entering tooling. [Source: Autobase Aichi]

If Robosen Optimus Prime Is a Little Bit Too Much Toy for You

Jada’s Transformers Optimus Prime Converting RC Vehicle is now up for preorder at about $70. The crew finds it chintzy in a charming way, though $40 feels like a fairer price. Don notes in chat that it looks like a Rescue Bots mold blown up with a motor added. One host wants a Grimlock motorcycle RC next. [Source: Entertainment Earth]

What We Got This Week

Rob got Kingdom Tigatron from Deep Discount for $10. He calls it a second pass on the Kingdom Cheetor design rather than a simple upscale. Its gun no longer forms part of the beast mode.

Diecast got Core Class Hot Rod but has not opened it yet.

Matt got Legacy Bulkhead after seeing it in hand, and the proportions won him over. The spare wheels behind the head serve no purpose in truck mode. He also got Legacy Dragstrip and loves its solid robot mode and neat transformation. The car mode has no rear wheel clearance and a little play at the waist, which he calls minor nitpicks.

Brian found the Jada Transformers metal miniature figures on his desk at work, a surprise gift from Dusty of the RPG Lessons Learned podcast. He has now opened last week’s Legacy Galvatron and calls it nice and worth getting. Deep Discount canceled his Premium Deco Optimus Prime order.

Chris got Studio Series 86 Core Class Spike Witwicky. He rates it at least the equal of Iguanus. A shallow flange in the pelvis must click past the thigh ridges for the legs to lock in. A lever turns Spike’s head inside the dome, and Chris notes Mega Construx heads are about the same size for custom swaps.
