Photos of the Generations Figures From SDCC 2023 Including Deathsaurus

The SDCC preview night display showed HasLab Deathsaurus at every stage: block model, gray prototype, engineering pilots and a deco master. Chris explained each stage and noted Hasbro now does most deco masters digitally, likely a change driven by COVID. Chris expects Deathsaurus around November or December. [Source: BWTF]

Hasbro and Robosen Launch Pre-Orders for Auto-Converting Grimlock

Robosen revealed a self-transforming G1 Grimlock at $1,499 on preorder and $1,699 after. One host called it an amazing technical achievement, since a complex shape transforms and balances on its own. Nobody on the crew will pay that much. One host said his Robosen Optimus Prime was fun for five minutes, and the batteries and app may not last. [Source: BWTF]

SDCC 2023 Hasbro Transformers Generations Toy Panel Report and Images

The Generations panel headliner was Studio Series 86 Commander Class Ultra Magnus, a unibody design that the crew called a mini Masterpiece Ultra Magnus. Chris had called it early that the limbs detach to recreate the scene on Junk. The chest compartment is spring loaded, and all the fingers are articulated. The panel also showed Nova Prime on the Galaxy Prime mold and a Shattered Glass two-pack of Rodimus and Sideswipe with Whisper. Chris said Whisper and the new Hot Shot point to an Armada-themed capsule, including a Thrust on Hot Shot’s box. Also shown were the Stunticons gift set with new decos, Studio Series 86 Ratchet and Frenzy, and Exo-Suit Noah. Nacelle on the Tetra Jet mold disappointed the crew, and the Cascade and Javelin two-pack puzzled the crew. [Source: TFW2005]

Close-up photos show what one host called an amazingly perfect cartoon Ultra Magnus face. Brian called it the Ultra Magnus he has wanted for years. The crew now wants a Killing Jar version, and one host wants a Delta Magnus too. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers Masterpiece Movie Bonecrusher Revealed

Target surprised fans with MPM-14 Bonecrusher, complete with on-fire effect parts. Brian does not buy movie toys but says it looks good, and Don preordered. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers Legacy Toxitron Collection G2 Grimlock Sighted at US Retail and In-Hand Images

The Toxitron Collection is turning up at Walmart, and Grimlock was the first toy found, before any stock photo. One host likened it to discovering toys in the late 90s. Diecast is frustrated that Walmart only offered half the wave for preorder and that some Collector Con orders were dropped to zero dollars. Diecast also missed Toe-Line when it went up on Pulse with no warning. [Source: TFW2005]

What We Got This Week

Chris

Thanks to Discord member PandaStrong, Chris got the Amazon Megatron and Rattrap set for free. Megatron needs its reversed knee parts flipped, and PandaStrong sent an already fixed set. Chris loves the new head and colors, though the tank mode is weak. Toxitron arrived from Walmart, and he likes the Laser Optimus mold more than expected. Its deco closely matches the original Universe Toxitron sample, though it carries a G2 Decepticon logo. Studio Series 86 Snarl came in, and he ranks it second among the Leader Dinobots after Grimlock. He also found Studio Series 86 Junkheap at Ross for $13.

Don

Don’s off-topic pickups came first. On topic, he got Nemesis Leo Prime for about $15 with a Target reward. Commander Armada Optimus Prime surprised him, solid and well built. A Walmart gift card bought him Armada Megatron to go with it. Toxitron arrived today, along with G2 Jazz and Cloudcover, whose checkered intakes he loves.

Rob

Rob got the orange G2 Jazz, which comes with Hound’s gun for no clear reason. His other pickups were off-topic.

Matt

Matt got Legacy Beachcomber, a bigger Power of the Primes Beachcomber, though the parakeet stuck to its paint in the heat. G2 Jazz is fantastic, and Laser Cycle feels better than Elita-1 and Road Rocket. He bought the full Toxitron case early from Robot Kingdom. The watermelon G2 Mirage is gorgeous, G2 Sideswipe’s cyan and yellow look sharp, and Dead End goes together best of the wave.

Diecast

For his birthday, Diecast got Make Toys Ramjet to join the rest of his Make Toys Seekers. G2 Cloudcover and Jazz are still unopened.

Brian

Brian skipped most of his haul but said he dislikes Armada Megatron. It is one of his favorite Transformers, and the new toy keeps the look while losing the gimmicks, smaller and $20 pricier than the original.
