SDCC 2023: Transformers Reveals Official Pics

Official stock photos of last week’s SDCC reveals include the Legacy Menasor gift set. Don is very tempted at around $200, while Brian admitted he never assembled his own Menasor. One host lost enthusiasm for the original Stunticons after Dead End and Breakdown disappointed. Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus still looks great, and the box seems to show a spring-loaded Matrix gimmick. One photo shows him a head taller than Kingdom and the oversized War for Cybertron knockoff. Brian worries the unibody cab looks like a hollow box of panels. One host wondered whether the ‘defensive measures in Autobot City’ box text hints at a future Metroplex. [Source: TFW2005]

Pulsecon 2023 Announced for September 22nd

Hasbro set Pulse Con 2023 for September 22. Don will be at a work convention that day. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers x Stranger Things Crossover Code Red Revealed

Code Red is a Volkswagen Type 2 pizza van heavily retooled from Earthrise Ironhide, at about $45. One host noted the same van is the turtle van in the new Ninja Turtles movie and wants an upgrade kit for that. One host will consider it around $30 to $35, and another treats collaborations as optional for his collection. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers Legacy Armada Powerlinx Hot Shot and Minicon Jolt In-Hand Images

In-hand photos of Powerlinx Hot Shot with Jolt show the best-designed Armada Jolt yet, according to one host. Flip-out heel spikes let it stand, and the show-accurate color sits between the two original toy colors. [Source: TFW2005]

Transformers x Jurassic Park Collaborative Autobot JP12 In-Hand Images

The Dennis Nedry-themed JP12 Jeep robot does not interest Brian, though the Barbasol can accessory is a nice touch. Others will wait for a sale. [Source: TFW2005]

Legacy Strongarm and Detritus Early Looks

Screenshots of Legacy Strongarm show proportions close to her Robots in Disguise show model. One host said the whole upper body is new. Legacy Detritus, a Hound retool, gets its first full vehicle-mode look, which could use flaps to cover the joints at the back. [Source: not found]

Buzzworthy Bumblebee Legacy Evolution Troop Builder Multipack In-Hand

Hasbro Pulse UK is fulfilling the troop builder four-pack, and photos show the Seeker distinctly different from Earthrise Thundercracker. Don bought two for the Jhiaxus troopers and may sell the extra Seeker. Another host would happily take unwanted Seekers. The crew still wants a blue Thrust and a Dirgewing Skywarp instead of the Tetra Jet Nacelle. [Source: not found]

Paramount+ Sets Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Streaming Date

Rise of the Beasts is now streaming on Paramount+ while still in theaters. One host is glad he can skip the theater and watch with the subscription he already has. [Source: TheWrap]

What We Got This Week

Chris

Chris got Toxitron Collection Cloudcover and suspects Hasbro has refurbished the Earthrise Seeker mold, since it fits together better than Coronation Starscream. The pale blue deco with cloud camo and purple G2 symbols is beautiful. G2 Jazz, which he calls Nacho Cheesier Jazz, looks great but has loose shoulder joints. Toe-Line, a light retool of Scraphook, has the same elbow problem as his first Scraphook. Its colors match the Robots in Disguise toy perfectly, and Chris wants more Junkion repaints.

Rob

Rob’s pickups were off-topic.

Matt

Matt got Cloudcover and says it holds up well. He will buy as many Earthrise Seekers as Hasbro makes, including Nacelle on that mold, Dirge, Sunstorm and a teal troop builder pack.

Don

Don’s pickups were mostly off-topic. On topic, Matt gifted him the Toxitron Collection Mirage, which he loves. He also got the Buzzworthy Studio Series 102 Optimus Prime and likes the robot mode, though the truck bed is weak.

Diecast

For his birthday, Matt gave Diecast Super7 Ultimates Raphael. On topic, he got G2 Jazz, Cloudcover and Toe-Line, which he found on an endcap at Target. He also got Transformers bandages from Pop Shelf and a $1 Transformers 2024 calendar from Dollar Tree.

Brian

Brian had no on-topic pickups this week.
