In What We Got This Week, Don’s discount math goes non-Euclidean and Rob calls Legacy Devcon his deluxe of the year.

Transformers Stream 11/14/23 Recap: Reactivate Toys and More
Transformers Tuesday showed the Reactivate figures and gave other Studio Series designers time to discuss their MCM London reveals. Reactivate Soundwave is the weakest of the four figures, and one host no longer plans to buy the Optimus Prime set right away. Some hosts blame bad photography, much like Masterpiece Ironhide. One host thinks Soundwave would have worked better as a Machine Wars-style tank. Everyone loves the Optimus Prime, and one host is buying the pack for it alone. The designers noted the toys were developed in the Lenny era. One host says these figures have no fiction to anchor them, much like Power Core Combiners. [Source: TFW2005]
Peter Cullen to Receive Lifetime Achievement Honors at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards
Peter Cullen will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the second annual Children’s and Family Emmys. The crew calls it well deserved and runs through his career, from Eeyore to narrating Voltron. They argue Frank Welker deserves one too. Captain Rufus in the Discord sums it up: Welker is the inheritor of Mel Blanc. [Source: AwardsDaily]
Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus New Promotional Images
InDemand Toys posted new Deathsaurus promo images, and Brian hopes it ships soon. Backers have nine more days to confirm their address, so shipping could start around the end of November. Brian still has no shipping notice for his H.I.S.S. Tank. [Source: TFW2005]
New Item Listings Found: Deluxe Cannonball, TF x G.I. Joe Kup Triple T, MPM Brawl and More
JTPrime shared new listings. The mystery Star Seekers deluxe is Cannonball, and one host fears another Legacy Crankcase retool. The crew pitches better molds, from Siege Hound to a Junkion. The next G.I. Joe crossover pairs Kup with the Triple T, Sgt. Slaughter and Leatherneck. Brian is all in and admits he got choked up opening the Classified Sgt. Slaughter. Movie Masterpiece Brawl draws little interest, though one host sees cross-collecting appeal at Studio Series scale. A Pulse-exclusive Dinoking box set is also listed. One host passes, but another says the varied colors should help. A Target-exclusive Leader Optimus Prime with Autobot Bullseye rounds out the list. [Source: TFW2005]
Super7 Ultimates Alligaticon In-Hand Images
M. Sipher posted in-hand photos of Super7 Ultimates Alligaticon. Chris says it looks the most like what was advertised in its wave. It includes a tower with an Optimus Prime arm and a slug taxi. Don suggests the Entertainment Earth buy-one-get-one-half-off sale for anyone who wants one. [Source: M. Sipher on Bluesky]
Super7 ReAction Transformers Beast Wars Tigatron First Look
ReAction Tigatron is a redeco of ReAction Cheetor. Don, a big Tigatron fan, may get it if he can find a deal. One host worries the card art is just recolored Cheetor art, which would undercut the main reason to buy it. [Source: TFW2005]
Legacy United Leader Tigerhawk Behind the Scenes and Official In-Hand Images
Mark Maher’s behind-the-scenes photos sell Chris on Tigerhawk. He likes that it recreates the cartoon look rather than the original toy, so the two can coexist. He wishes the white parts had a light wash to bring out the sculpt. Another host expects third-party gap fillers and weapon upgrades. Chris will wait for a discount, since most Leaders get a second run. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers x Stranger Things Code Red In-Hand Images
A comparison photo shows Code Red standing nearly as tall as Earthrise Optimus Prime. Chris now thinks it clones Earthrise Ironhide’s engineering instead of retooling it. He feels better about the price at that size. One host has never watched Stranger Things and has no interest. [Source: TFW2005]
What We Got This Week
Chris
Chris had nothing in Transformers this week.
Diecast
Diecast had nothing in Transformers this week.
Don
Don got the TFCon exclusive based on IDW Chromedome, a Joker-styled figure with a very G2 look. He found a Rise of the Beasts Scourge on Walmart clearance for $5. He also bought a custom-painted mainline Rhinox for about $18 shipped and returned the $36 one he had. The crew dubs it non-Euclidean Dononomics. He now has the full Rise of the Beasts mainline cast.
Matt
Matt picked up Legacy Kickback to go with Shrapnel, and the search for Bombshell begins. One host offers to grab him a Bombshell at Walmart.
Rob
Rob got Legacy Devcon for $18, under US retail. He calls it a very nice figure and an animation-accurate take on a one-appearance character. Rob says Devcon is probably his deluxe of the year. He also found the first IDW Classic Transformers collection used for under $10.
Brian
Brian got the Walmart retro reissue Perceptor, which he finds a little off, though the microscope still works. He bought a loose Transmetals Optimus Primal and a boxed Transmetals Megatron. He also got a boxed vintage G1 Sky Lynx, with paperwork and inserts, to replace a reissue. Next, he wants originals to replace his reissue Fortress Maximus and Smokescreen.
