HasLab Omega Prime Adds Brave Max Cerebros Titan Master
HasLab Omega Prime will come with a previously unannounced Titan Master, Brave Max’s Cerebros. Per an SDCC video interview with Evan Brooks, it lets backers without Titans Return toys use the Titan Master features, including a seat sized for one. One host likes the bonus and doubts it will anger people the way the surprise Micromasters with Star Saber did. One host hopes Hasbro never makes a Brave Maximus repaint of Fortress Maximus, because he would buy it. The crew noted that the Encore Fortress Maximus sold poorly, which may be why there is no Grand Maximus reissue. [Source: X (@ARCTIC_ST0RM)]
40th Anniversary G1 Optimus Prime Reissue in Animation Colors
Photos show the 40th anniversary G1 Optimus Prime reissue in cartoon colors, trailer included. Brian is speechless and calls it the best-looking version of the G1 mold. There is no chrome, but the smokestacks are silver. He says he might buy 15 at full price and every one if it hits clearance. The crew debated which fist and gun variants it uses, and Matt turned out to be right about the raised pegs. At a likely $99.97, it may cost more than Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime. Hasbro Hong Kong Exclusive Battle Damage Studio Series Transformers One Optimus Prime
Hasbro Hong Kong is giving away about 230 battle-damaged Studio Series Transformers One Optimus Primes. You get one free with a single Transformers purchase of roughly $375 at participating stores. One host says the metallic paint looks far better than the retail version’s beige. [Source: TFW2005]
Unix Square Combot Optimus Prime Prototype Images
Unix Square showed a Combot Optimus Prime, a licensed figure you take apart and rebuild rather than transform. The crew compared it to a staction figure and called it a turducken of a statue, action figure and Transformer. [Source: TFW2005]
Yolopark AMK Pro Series G1 Starscream Model Kit Official Images
Yolopark revealed the AMK Pro G1 Starscream. One host wants a Sunstorm version, and Chris called the missile effect pieces lame. Another host praised the correct body colors and an arm that can finally hit Starscream’s signature pose. The crew says Yolopark is what Hasbro’s R.E.D. line should have been, at similar prices. Transformers One Race Changers 2-Pack In-Hand Images
In-hand photos show the Transformers One Race Changers two-pack, which the crew confirmed are Bot Shots in all but name. One host has seen them at Target, likely street dated. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers x Duel Masters Collaboration Announced in Japan
Takara Tomy owns Duel Masters, so Transformers cards are coming. The crew was underwhelmed, since they just use photos of Missing Link Bumblebee and a G1 Optimus Prime. [Source: TFW2005]
Transformers One Early Screening Reactions
Discord members Josh and Miguel attended a Transformers One screening in New York City, and so did Ben Yee. Reactions were positive, and it sounds like a great film for kids. The crew is cautiously optimistic.
SDCC 2024 Panel Recap
In a bonus segment recorded after the SDCC panel, Missing Link Sentinel Prime from Takara Tomy was the crew’s favorite reveal of the week. The Pulse Con Dinoking set pulls off the character well, with new hands and feet. At $80 in a collector box, the crew called the price fair. One host joked that Pulse Con 2025 will sell the molds again as Monstructor.
The Knight Rider collaboration is Agent Knight, with lights and possibly the scanner sound. The crew sees an Omnibot look and a Dotson Brothers vibe in the hood chest. G.I. Joe crossover Kup with the Triple T looks nice, but the colors do not feel like Kup. Studio Series 86 Devastator was teased, and JT Prime confirmed Hook and Long Haul as a Commander Class two-pack.
Wave 5 of Legacy United showed no sign of Deluxe Sureshot or Core Class Beast Wars Dinobot, and Don is not happy either. One host felt the panel was flat, since Hasbro showed little new and seemed to be saving news for Pulse Con. Takara Tomy also revealed Super Starscream on the Legacy Armada Starscream mold, and a Throne Collection 01 that implies more thrones to come.
What We Got This Week
Chris
Chris got the Target Legacy United four-pack. He prefers the retail Tarn deco and never wanted Prime Cliffjumper. The orange Tarantulas based on unused catalog colors is a fun extra. Squeeze Play, a solid retool of Mindwipe, is the real reason to buy, and it stands better than Fangry. From Hasbro Pulse he got the Generations Selects GoBots three-pack, praising Pathfinder’s vibrant blue and the Gears mold. He also got Deluxe Filch, the first full toy of the Robots in Disguise 2015 character, though it needs more paint contrast. His favorite was Party Wallop from Target: a big, solid Voyager-sized toy and the first cartoon-accurate Turtle Van. It may top Gigawatt as his favorite collaboration, and his one gripe is the packaging that must be torn to open.
Matt
Matt also got the four-pack and likes Squeeze Play more than he expected, though the shoulder joints are loose. Its Browning gun is nicely painted, and Matt hopes to complete the team with Horri-Bull in a few years. He has no use for the other three figures in the set.
Diecast
Diecast got the four-pack, the GoBots three-pack, Studio Series 86 Swoop and Studio Series 86 Springer, all unopened. Thanks to Don, he also bought two Target Optimus Prime sets on eBay, one to keep sealed for the packaging.
Don
Don got Party Wallop, the Studio Series 86 Ratchet and Brawn two-pack and the four-pack, all unopened. At Target he found Transformers One Optimus Prime, which he calls meh with a so-so beige. He likes Transformers One Bumblebee better and calls Sentinel Prime simple but satisfying, with a transformation like G1 Sonic Bomber. Studio Series 86 Bumblebee is a good little figure with a neat pop-out Autobot symbol. Trixter picked up two TFCon exclusives for him: Lunacyte, a Lady Galvatron take on the Tarn mold, and Clutch, a G2 Clench homage.
Rob
Rob got the Legacy two-pack of IDW snipers Cascade and Javelin for $30 on Prime Day. He likes Javelin a bit more, and both have nice colors and new sniper rifles. He also got Target Optimus Prime with Bullseye for $30 on eBay. The red, white and black look great, though the long-nose cab makes the Earthrise trailer look small.
Brian Kilby
Brian got Ferak, the Studio Series 86 Ratchet and Brawn two-pack, the GoBots set and the Target four-pack, none opened yet.
